007 Themed attraction at the UK Universal Park.

Could it be the first of many Amazon licenses? Will the rumors prove to be true? If so what will it be like?

Maybe they'll film John Gardner's Never Send Flowers there some day in lieu of Disneyland Resort Paris (formerly Euro Disney)? One can dream!

    Bond and Paddington could star
    at Universal park
Danny Fullbrook | BBC News, Bedfordshire 9 April 2025|
    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c9344k7k95vo
A source close to the Universal UK project has told the BBC what fans can expect from the new park being built in Bedford.
James Bond, Paddington and Lord of the Rings are among the brands set to appear at the park, the BBC has learned.
Rides and attractions related to Harry Potter are not expected to be included.

On its website, Universal Destinations has claimed "it is too early" to know what attractions will be at the park.

Construction on the site at Kempston Hardwick, Bedfordshire, is expected to start next year if planning permission is granted.

While the source is confident that these concepts are happening, the theme park is not expected to open until 2031, which means some plans could change.
Rides have already been designed, with the majority planned as indoor attractions.

Rollercoasters based on Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and Minions are among the few rides that will not be under cover.
There will be a stunt show based on 007, similar to the The Bourne Stuntacular in Florida.
"If you look at Epic Universe, the newest park they're opening in Florida, a lot of those rides are indoors, too," the source said.
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy told BBC Breakfast the theme park would be an opportunity to show off "great British creations to the world".

"These are things like James Bond, Paddington Bear, these are things like Harry Potter. We've got so much to be proud of," she said.

I was at Universal Orlando last weekend and was able to catch the last show of the day of "The Bourne Stuntacular" If it is anything like that, it'll be fantastic.
  • QBranchQBranch Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.

Apparently one of the rides will be a spiralling roller coaster featuring AMC Hornet trains and 'classic sound effects', while the stunt show consists of an oil rig set and several trampolines.

I'm not gonna lie, i'm actually interested in that stunt show idea.

Yeah, i'd rather they went a more practical route instead, like the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.

I will await confirmation from Amazon if this is going to happen? Can't lie? It would be a dream come true. Bond alone could easily fill a theme park!

But James Bond did have an amusement park before in 80s, right? But was cancelled?

This is interesting and could've been great.

We lucky Canadians remember a Bond ride at Canada's Wonderland. Back in the Brosnan era.

Here is the ride at a theme park in Virginia, same as the one at Wonderland.

Desmond and Judi were a part of the pre-show festivities! It was a motion simulator ride and quite well done. I couldn't find footage of the ride itself though some is featured in the ad.

Yes, Licence to Thrill was at the Trocadero in London too for a while. I remember the queueing area was dressed as Q's lab and had various film props literally laying around: I remember seeing the bomb from the end of Living Daylights just on top of a pile. The underwater Lotus was there too, with straps across its bonnet and appearing to hover, the conceit being that it was a new flying prototype. I think the Acrostar was there too.

I can't remember a huge amount about it, a lot of the ride had Bond on the R1200 motorbike from TND. Pretty sure he had a missile in his watch too.

Wasn't that around the time of TND? I think I remember hearing about that.

It was opened around 1998-1999, after TND, around the time of TWINE, probably.
The attraction opened on May 9, 1998, at King's Dominion, Carowinds, California's Great America, King's Island, and Canada's Wonderland. Later, the attraction debuted at Trocadero in London on August 17, 1999, and at Fox Studios Theme Park in Sydney, Australia on December 1, 1999.[

I remember our Licence To Thrill guide/safety instructor more than the ride itself. He'd decided to take on the persona of a tough drill sergeant and yelled the whole briefing at us:

"If you experience any discomfort, put your hand up and shout I AM A COWARD!"
