Your best to worst films of the year for 2012 (so far)

edited August 2012 in General Movies & TV Posts: 12,837
What's been your film of the year for 2012 so far? Which films were released that you didn't like? List them in order here.

My no 1 has to be The Raid. Great action, story, the fights are just brutal. Loved it, and one of the only films in another language I've enjoyed (I've always hated having to read subtitles).

My least favourite, and the only bad film I've seen this year, was Piranha 3DD. Massive let down. The first one was a nice mix of horror, comedy and boobs, and it was also the only 3d film I've ever preferred in 3D, I normally hate 3D. The 2nd takes the self parody to the extreme, and even though there are some funny cameos, it's just cringe worthy. Also, the 3D in the 2nd was terrible, especially compared to the first.

1- The Raid
2- The Expendables 2
3- The Dark Knight Rises
4- Ted
5- Cabin In The Woods
6- Avengers Assemble/Haywire (tie)
7- The Bourne Legacy/Men In Black 3 (tie)
8- Lockout
9- American Reunion
10- Dark Shadows
11- Piranha 3DD

You can change your list as the year goes on.

I still want to see that. As bad as it may be, it stars Danielle Panabaker, so it can't be all bad.

I have not seen many 2012 films. I did like Gone with Amanda Seyfried (another favourite of mine). It felt like a throwback to those cat and mouse thrillers that we don't get much these days.

Forgot about that, I'll put it into my list now.

Life in a Day. This is more a kind documentry movie who get his Dutch Tv release on 7 January 2012. It showing couple of minutes of people around world being filmed on one and the same day. Directed by the directer of The Last King of Scotland. 8/10

Homeland Season 1. Not a movie but a tv serie who released on tv in my country on 1 January 2012. Same subject as 24 (But in another way of direction and if you don't like the direction season 6 of 24 go with people then you possible don't like this serie.) and only 12 episodes (The first and last episode be 75 minutes and the rest 55.) and more time for the story with more drama then action (if there is then it be small.), also place for some (hidden/dark) humor. 8/10

Sadly, none in the theatre. No actual 2012 although ...

I am counting Girl with the Dragon Tattoo because it came out on dvd here in Japan in July; hope that counts a bit. I did like it a lot.
Sherlock Homes - Game of Shadows; I liked it better than the 1st, ditto released in 2012 here.

That's all, folks - my poor little list ... but I can't get to movies here often (can't afford it, really, so I choose carefully). I have a special Skyfall fund started. :D

I don't see very many Academy Award eligible movies, but here's my list of films I've seen this year in the order I saw them.

Red Tails (Pretty good. Flyboys was better.)
    Underworld: Awakening (Kate Beckinsale :x)
The Three Stooges (Pretty good casting. Actually pretty enjoyable.)
Safe (One of my favorite Jason Statham films behind Transporter and Italian Job.)
    The Avengers (Overhyped, but good.)
Men in Black 3 (Best of the three. Surprisingly funny.)
The Amazing Spider-Man (I liked it, I think even more than Tobey Maguire's)
    The Dark Knight Rises (Epic.)
Total Recall (Pretty good. Once again, Kate Beckinsale :x)
The Expendables 2 (Really corny at times, but Arnie made up for it!)
Here Comes the Boom (I like Kevin James. King of Queens+Rocky= Good film)
Skyfall (I think we all know how mindbogglingly excellent this film was. :-bd )

@TopGearJB007, I'm glad I read the descriptions of these films. For a moment there, I thought 'Underworld: Awakening' and 'The Three Stooges' beat out 'Skyfall' and 'The Dark Knight Rises.'
