You can't buy tickets. You have to be lucky and know someone who knows someone who.....
Ah, as I thought! I suppose there must be some well-connected people here then!
The TLD Premiere was special for me as I had always wanted to attend one since the early Roger Moore years. I recall that they had the Aston Martin with skis and rockets attached sitting outside for people to gawp at. Needless to say I managed to get up close and personal and have a good inspection of the vehicle. They also had a stuntman dressed in a black tuxedo abseil from the top of the marque to the entrance just before Timothy Dalton arrived. This was for the TV cameras and was made to look as if it was Dalton doing the abseiling before he took his cue to be interviewed by Thames TV. The whole event was magical... and I even managed to get a kiss off Fiona Fullerton after the movie!! You see I was young and good looking in those days.
And "yes" I did see Di and Charles.
Even though i live in the UK! With work it is highly unlikely i will be able to go? However we do get some film premiere tv shows late in the evening over here. So? I expect the same for Skyfall so i can record and keep them for prosperity!
So far thought of food, drink, waterproof sheet, extra warm clothes in case you get wet. camera, spare pen, empty water bottles, plastic pipeing, elastic and a very small funnel.
The empty water bottles are strapped to the thighs with the elastic and the small funnel and plastic pipeing is for when you need a pee. At least you will not loose your space when you need a toilet break. Lastly scissors so you can cut the billboards off the barriers.
You still get to wear a tux and walk the red carpet but you are segregated from the stars.
Sorry guys but I'm afraid I can think of nothing less Bondian than camping out like a pikey from 6 in the morning, pissing in a bottle and getting rained on. If I cant get in to this B premiere then I'll probably just swing by at about 6.30 and soak up a bit of atmos. Did this for QOS and saw Daniel and Olga from about 100 yards. Not worth 12 hours of waiting to shorten the yardage for me.
Bascially you got to walk through security along the red carpet and through the middle of the square. Then you got separated and had to cross a special bridge above all the peasants and into the other cinema (think it was the Empire), whilst the real VIPs went into the Odeon.
Joe public in the square didnt know the difference though and were taking pictures of anybody in a tux.
Suggest you keep an eye on here:

The dates would suggest that the SF premiere will be the climax of the festival.
....You are right bondsum, you used to be able to buy tickets!! I bought a ticket for LTK premiere from the princes trust!! About £140 at the time, and I got to sit the row behind Micheal Kamen of all folks! And was only about 25ft from the Royal duo and the Eon lot!! I think I got the seat because it was a spare single and good timing on my part, who knows!! All I can say is walking down the red carpet to the main doors of the Odeon L/square in my tux and people screaming and shouting etc was a bit scary for a shy 18yr old!!!
But a good time was had, meet many people, best of all was Kamen who was a good laugh and totally genuine!!!! Robert brown and Cubby brushed past me, and then from nowhere Timothy Dalton appeared on the stairs and was spotted by all and swamped for autographs etc!!!
While I walked out the main doors totally in love with "Cary Lowell" and off to find my waiting car to drive me home, my Dad in his old vauxhall in other words!!! Oh the simple days of youth!!!!! :-B
Whether or not you will be able to meet up with folks from this board - the town is full of Bond fans as it is anyway and opposite to what some here say - go and make the queue at Leicester Square. Its a very speecial atmosphere, that you won't find in a theater nearby or anywhere else. You can see the film a hundred times, but this is unique.
I was there startinf at 9 am and wasn't bored. Something to see, someone to chat tgo at all times. They play the clips, they play music - I say - that is pur Bond.
xxx
Don't forget, its gonna be RoyalAlbert Hall this year ;)
