Former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton has scooped a 'Fan Favourite' gong at the 2011 TV Guide awards. The two-time 007 won the 'Favourite Villain' category for his role as Alexei Volkoff in the NBC television series 'Chuck'.

The series is about an "average computer-whiz-next-door" who receives an encoded e-mail from an old college friend now working in the CIA; the message embeds the only remaining copy of the world's greatest spy secrets into Chuck's brain.

Dalton joined the cast for a story-arc last season. It was his first appearance on an American network TV series since way back in 1979, when he guested on "Charlie's Angels."

I haven't seen any of this series but it still pleases me when Tim gets recognition for his acting because I always feel he got a slightly raw deal from the press and public regarding his work on the Bond films.
  • Guys you really need to watch all the series not only the ones with Timothy because Chuck is the greatest show that have ever been on TV so trust me you won`t regret it!!!:)

I have to admit, I kinda had Chuck on my radar of shows to watch, and this simply places it on top of the list!

Well done to Mr. Dalton! Maybe after all this time his talents are finally being recognised? Well, I'd like to think so.

He more than deserved this award for his work on the show. After a rather lackluster third season, the show had finally gotten back on track in its fourth season and was already headed towards having its best season yet before Dalton even made his first appearance, but he managed to take the show to an even higher level.

I never seen Chuck and I didn't even know he was on the show.

You got to admit from looking at the above photo, if he dyed his hair black or wear a toupee like Sean did, he can be Bond again!

Actually I doubt that. Dalton still looks fine, I agree. I saw The Tourist and felt that way practically every time he was on screen. But he wouldn't be able to convincingly play an active agent anymore. Not today, in 2011. This man is close to 65. He's beyond the scope of credibility as Bond.

Dalton should have played Bond until 2000. Brosnan would take over in 2002, up to 2012, when his talents really improved - watch Ghost Writer. Both Brosnan and Dalton really improved with age. Without his boyish face and horrible hair style in GE, and with a much more mature look, more gravitas, charisma that he earned with age, Brosnan would have been a stellar Bond in the 2000's, all the way till 2012. And in 2014, Fassbender could have taken over, as he really impressed in X-Men First Class.

As much as I love Moore, Dalton and Brosnan would have been more credible as secret agents in their late 50's than Moore. Moore really aged from '81 to '85, whilst PB and TD really got better with age, as of yet.
