I for one am glad that they waited until now to release the song - this way people won't be sick of it by the time the film is out.
Some pictures :) About (00)7 people showed up, and were having a great time! Just watched Goldfinger and now watching Live 'n let Die
The toast to Cubby and Harry
Me with the SkyFall Heineken.
Watching Goldfinger :) A friend there has got chips in his hair :D
I also have a thought for all of us, Bond Fans, who finally are rewarded for our Bondmania and not seen as freaks (at least for one day).
I was watching a bit of Dr No earlier on Sky and my mum was in the same room. When Bond and Honey started to pass out after having the drugged coffee she began LAUGHING!!!! ~X(
Ah Mums. They give us life then ruin our movies... :)
She's a smart lady but she's got no time for old movies. She considers the acting hammy in most of them.
She thought Vertigo was stupid when she watched it with me.
I'll ignore the borderline homoeroticism in your post on this special occasion!
As I'm not living in America and haven't got thousands to spunk at the auction I was left to my own devices by EON so I went for:
Finding a bottle of Kina Lillet in my lunch hour to add to 3 measures of Gordons and 1 of Russki Standard Platinum (sorry despite Smirnoff being there from the start its not very good vodka) to make a Vesper for me and the missus whilst watching Rog putting a shift in on The One Show.
Then a second Vesper and DN on the bluray followed by a final Vesper all round which was enough to get my Russian missus to ham up her Bond girl accent and let nature take its course!
Back of the net!
You know as I typed it I did think, hmmm, sounds kind of gay does that! Oh well, doesn't bother me.
A Russian girlfriend?? Now that's a dedicated Bond fan!! Jolly good work 00-7, jolly good.
Instead I just managed to buy a stupid ticket for Skyfall at the Odeon on 26th Oct :p
Sweet baby jesus on a bike this Dr No looks amazing on my 47'' in HD.. I want to jump in the water!! :D
Textbook! I thought about a getting my self a girl from these shores and then I thought no chance ! British!? But no seriously my bird is from st lucia lol
Anyway I spent my whole entire crappy day trying to win prizes off 007 on twitter , the bastards didn't choose me for anything :( , I also watched casino royale with the misses and her mother and they thought it would be jolly hockey sticks if they spoke blabbering crap during the whole film!
Here's to the next "bond day" :-bd [-(
I've played Adele's Skyfall about 6 times now and still love it.

Lizo.
God preserve us from the voice of the moral majority.
A nice Vesper or three certainly enhanced my evening.
And now for the thrilling conclusion.
4:00 PM: LTK. Classic.
7:00 PM: Had something to eat.
9:00 PM: Was going out, but decided to see what was wrong with the bike first. Water in the fuel tank, nothing major, can be easily fixed.
10:00 PM: Pub.
And that was what happened on my first Bond day.
October 5th. Global James Bond Day. Amsterdam, netherlands. 17.00.
A first for me, seeing that at the cinema.
Went to see On Her Majesty's Secret Service in the cinema with a friend and co-owner of 007NL. the original reel from 1969. Very cool and still a great movie, even better on sutch a huge screen. Friend and I were interviewed by the dutch news, so I might be a celebrity soon. ( ;) ) Afterwards, we grabbed something to eat, and then it was time for thé Bond-celebration: A special, closed off-for-public 20th century fox James Bond event. We were guided through the building by women in gold dresses, and as we walked in the foyer, the Bond-theme started playing. Talk about timing!
We were greeted by champagne and more girls in tight gold dresses. I met quite a few interresting people, including the founder of Bond Lifestyle with whom I had a lovely chat, and the founder and owner of James Bond Netherlands. they brought 3 tables full of merchandising, including Bond On Set-books, some original props such as Bon'd medical record from TWINE, a Quantum pin, the driver's smokes from Dr. No, factory entertainment teeth, the Golden Gun's, 1 in gun-form, one detatched, and the Goldeneye weapon. It's really expensive, but I cannot describe how cool it looks in real life! I also talked with a guy from Activision who was there with a couple of Goldeneye reloaded games, and got a bit of insider info about 007 Legends.
Then we went sat down with a Vesper Martini - Shaken, not stirred of course - for a screening of the Bond blu-rays. Even the classics like Thunderball and Live and Let Die look like they've been shot a week ago, the quality is incredible. After the screening, there were some blackjack and roulette tables where the guests could enjoy themselves, followed by a James Bond quiz. I managed to grab a limited edition golden James Bond 007 eau de toilette because of that. as the time went, so did the Martini's, untill it was time to go.
Walking out the door with a goodiebag with a single disc of Quantum of Solace, a copy of Bondesque magazine, a Bond 50 golden keychain, an individually numbered Bond lifestyle cartamundi set, an exclusive excerpted edition of "James Bond - 50 years of movie posters", and some flyers from the Bond 50 box, I could confirm what Carly Simon knew 35 years ago:
Nobody does it better...
Lucky you. If I'd known about this further in advance I think it would have been well worth following EONs lead and abandoning the UK and nipping over to the Dam for the day.
So the Dutch get this, the Yanks have a choice between going out to see DN on the big screen or stay in and watch EON for free and what did we get?
Rog on The One Show and after that you're on your own. My cup runneth over.
