That's actually a great point. There's no way we would have gotten 77 minutes worth of score with the Skyfall song also on the soundtrack.
I really don't get the frustration here. Not having the Adele song as part of Thomas Newman's score release is NOT a big deal. If anything, it gives fans an opportunity to obtain two pieces of merchandise/memorabilia from Skyfall instead of just one by getting Adele's single and Thomas Newman's score. :-??
What is the problem?
The Dutch Mega Top 50 confirms that for the first time since Sheena Easton's nr.1 for 'For Your Eyes Only', another James Bond title song ends up at the famous nr.1 spot. And off course that song is Adele's 'Skyfall'!!
Tomorrow afternoon (Saturday October 13th) the Dutch Mega Top 50 will be broadcasted on Radio 3FM at 15:00 GMT+1: http://www.3fm.nl. Later tonight (Friday October 12th), you can already find the full list at http://megatop50.3fm.nl.
For your information, the Mega Top 50 is the biggest chartlist in The Netherlands. It includes the physical sales of CD's, radio and TV airplay and sold internet downloads.
If you dislike 'Skyfall', then you must dislike the overall Bond music tradition no? Then, songs like 'Diamonds Are Forever' will sound plain boring for you as well.
No. He can dislike SF without disliking DAF or any past song.
However this is only after 3 days of sales Oct 5 - Oct 7th. Félicitations Adele!

I always think people are individualistic enough to answer a question themselves. That's also interesting for discussion. You don't need to answer for him :-).
Moreover, he's a newbie. Let's wait and see if he will be a regular poster. During the weeks preceding a James Bond movie premiere a lot of newcomers show up, but who leave instantly afterwards. Doesn't mean he isn't welcome. I welcome everyone....and I welcome good discussions too.
So it enters 'new' on nr. 3?? Marvellous. For Adele it's the 2nd week in the Mega Top 50 charts. She entered at nr. 33 last week solely based on a few hours of music downloads. Now she moves up to nr. 1 with all sales and radio/tv airplay included.
Yes. The sales include digital and physical media. The song went on sale on the 5th and by the 7th had already sold enough copies to get all the way to number 3. If the song had been released earlier in the week it would have certainly gone to the number 1 spot. The next results will be for sales this week oct 8 - oct 14.
That's a fact though. He might hate the old songs but you can't just assume that because he doesn't like SF.
So what? What does him being new have to do with anything?
Or card shop? or believe it or not? Another mobile phone shop! :-t
Amazon have them

I have her CD '21' so I'm aware of the potential. And 'Diamonds Are Forever' was a good song. Some, like FRWL, aren't what I would have turned to on the radio, but the movie was so good that I'll now listen to it over and over just by association. Maybe Skyfall will grow on me.
In my opinion , Amy Winehouse would have killed it. Her voice was amazing and was perfect for a Bond theme. I Wish Amy could had done a theme for QOS or even Casino Royale.
I love Cornell and Duran Duran, for their different takes on the Bond song, but as far as traditional Bond songs go, Adele has nailed it 100%.
Totally love it. The chorus still makes the hair stand up on my arms with goosebumps. I can't want to hear it in the film itself at Odeon Leicester Square in less than 2 weeks time.....
Zero. :-((
Is that it, have we blown our chance of the first ever UK number 1? Drat!
Anyway, Rush for Bond 24!!!
Guys. They did it for 'us' fans to. Releasing the song on the 5th of October was exactly 50 years after the premiere of 'Dr. No'. Please give the producers....the music producers some credit for doing that.
Still, 2nd place!! I find it bloody awesome....equalling Duran Duran. First time I experience so much buzz about a Bond song. And I have started watching my first Bond film in cinema in 1989: 'Licence To Kill'.
