The previous 007 Actor confessed to Cinebox that he haven't seen the last movies of the saga he made part of.

JCS / 10/9/2012

Pierce Brosnan served His Majesty as 007 between '95 and '02, but the irish actor confessed in a interview to Cinebox, that he left to see the Bond films since then.

"I've never seen it. I've never saw any Bond with Daniel [Craig]. I've heard he's good, i know he's very good" afirmed Brosnan during the Venice's cine festival.

The ex-007 explained that even tried to see the debut of Daniel Craig as James Bond, but the destiny didn't let him do it.

"I've tried to see 'Casino Royale' in a plane. I thought "Let's see what Dan did". I was 37,000 ft high, in a safe distance from the ground, and the video system went down" he says.

Well now Roger said the same thing of Dalton-- just to avoid being put on the spot as to 'what he thought'.

Ten bucks said Brozza saw that movie alone in his basement when his family was out of the house :))

They come back to an odd smell, dad asleep, and suddenly the freezer's been emptied of deserts.

This is old news isn't it? The contents of the report came out a couple years ago. I remember reading this back then.
  • I heard he saw CR too. Just sounds like he was denying the level of greatness his films were unable to achieve.

I think he said his kids where watching it in the other room, and he saw parts of it. His kids I believe told him they where great, but he hadn't gotten around to watching it.

I believe even then we where discussion whether or not he was lying and actually saw the movie, but didn't want to have to answer questions.

I feel bad for the guy, Casino is quite the movie. Definitely worth the watch, Pierce.

I remember reading the initial interview about the plane incident, but I, too, thought Brosnan had seen CR. I think @BondWillReturn is right.

What the f*ck, Brosnan? Everybody else watched yours, at least repay them the favor!
  • Brosnan told a similar story in regards to not watching Dalton's films after he lost the part in the 80s. He said he never went to the cinema to see TLD and they were even playing it on a plane he was flying on sometime around 1988 I assume and he didn't even bother to watch it. Sounds like a pretty bitter guy.

Nah, I remember he said at the GE press conference (or maybe it was another film), he admired what Dalton had done with the character and wanted to try and continue that, so I think he saw Daltons films.

KI seem to remember a picture of him and his kids coming out of QoS into bright Californian sunlight.

    Did I imagine it?
  • I'd still love to know if Roger ever got around to seeing TLD- since he's openly said he had seen at least GoldenEye and Casino Royale

I do not care if Pierce has seen the DC movies he has always been positive about the guy who took over his job.

I beleive in another thread that it was mentioned that Rog had recently watched TLD and that he was impressed by Timbo.
  • Oh good- thanks @identigraph
  • On a similar note, has anyone noticed the amount of DC praising that Roger Moore has been doing recently. I swear I read shortly after QOS that he found DC's movies too violent for his liking. Maybe just a bit of Skyfall promoting but there does tend to be a lot of different stories when it comes to Bond on Bond. Of course, apart from Connery who says nothing! ha ha
  • Moore has always said he likes Craig but he doesn't like the violence, which is fair enough.

I can totally appreciate that though-- this was when Pierce was this close to getting his big break, and the only thing that stopped him was that TV show renewing his contract at the last second.
If I was Pierce I would have likely gone into a deep depression! #:-S

But fortunately good things to those who wait, and he got to play Bond after all

    Are you sure that's a good thing ;) :P

Although we could've done with more Dalton films, it was a very good thing ;)

And Brosnan's films were so good that Mendes didn't both seeing them either...

  • They're all probably lying. I reckon they've all seen each others Bond movies, just to try and satisfy their own egos that they were the best.
