"Bond, we need you to sneak into Goldfinger's plant and discover how he is smuggling the gold..."

*Cue setting off an EMP blast to crash a fighter plane, destroying the outdoor part of Goldfinger's facility and very loudly shoot your way in*

    Wha?
  • Does anyone know anything about these trials?

EXACTLY! It's like Bond is deliberately ignoring orders, just so Activision can set up a pointless action sequence with explosions and a shoot out. Wouldn't want to put in a strategic stealth section, Fleming forbid, oh no.
  • The stealth sections are apparently terrible so in a way, I suppose we should be thankful.

The stealth sequences are really the exact same as in GoldenEye Wii and GoldenEye Reloaded. The only minor difference is the ability to use certain gadgets as distractions so you can slip past guards, stuff like that. The fact of the matter is, it is extremely hard to keep stealth, due to the guards' unrealistic ability to locate you wherever you are, even if you shot a guard miles away, anbd clearly none of them saw the shot.

I will say I'm enjoying using the PPK in a game for once. Of course I turned the P99 back on for DAD. The only perk of pre ordering this I guess

how do you turn on the ppk once you download the code?
You can switch it on and off on the difficulty selection menu. But I'm starting to see why we keep seeing the P99 in games. The PPK makes the game A LOT harder by its shorter range and smaller clip

You can only do all three trials on 007 difficulty, you can do 2 on Agent and 1 on Operative. On Operative you can do Accuracy, Agent you can do Accuracy and Time and 007 you can do Accuracy, Time and Stealth.

Press start to see what the trial is, accuracy example is get 60% accuracy. The time should appear in the corner if you pick a mission from Mission Select.

Interesting. Thank you. I'm still a but confused, but I'll let you know if I have Ny additional questions after booting it up. I play on 007 Classic, so at least there is that.

I will say this though the eclimax of die another day looked better in 007 legends then in the actual film
  • I'm truly enjoying this so far, but having trouble finding body armor on 007 Classic. I can't find any on the second OHMSS level.
  • i got 007 legends. Multiplayer realy fun. So glad i got it, makes up for the single player i think.

The surfing scene in not in the game. You chase after Zao in the car, then have to board the plane (like in ripping off EoN) the also pay homage to rip off Nightfire, in the OHMSS level you get into a cable car, filled with RPG's (I knew at that point what was going to happen) and a random attack helicopter appeared. Worst thing: the graphics in Nightfire where better....

you know what is disapointing after months of hope and waiting for this game and it turns out to be bloody shit i mean if IGN (who god knows how much activision has bribed says that this game is bad you know you are in deep trouble)

i have watched all the gameplay vids and a couple of things irratate me beyond hell:

*There is No Story= i mean how could the legendary Bruce Firstein (the writer behind Goldeneye, Tommorow Never Dies and Everything or Nothing) not come up with a good storyline to connect all these missions together...i mean it starts off with
the beginning of Skyfall with bond getting shot and falling off the train into the water and while Bond is slowly bleeding and loosing oxygen
starts getting flashbacks to previous missions which dont even connect...i mean come on 007 Racing had a good story structure of various movies such as The Living Daylights and The Spy Who Loved Me connecting i mean why couldnt there be a set up like that imagine that Drax managed to fund his project with help from Blofeld or Goldfinger atleast it would be better than just random missions with no purpose like what we have here...

i would have started the story from the scene in the skyfall trailer where
Bond is in the room with the guy asking him questions "Country: England Gun: Shot
instead which would have atleast made context sense as he could be asking questions that connect the events like Tracys death in OHMSS could connect with Felix's been hospitalized and Bond going rouge or something

    * The Charaters

the one thing which really annoys me is when i found out that at the last minute they changed Holly goodhead from the sexy and timeless look of Lois Chiles to the new "modernized" Jinx hairstyle mediocre Jane Perry..i mean i just dont understand nearly all the images and movies up to the release had the real Goodhead and such and to find her replaced with a rather disapointing model (i mean they got Michael Lonsdale and Richard Kiel back as Drax and Jaws why not have the model of Lois even if they dont have the voice...its like having Goldfinger sound like a Spanish Porn Star oh hang on...

Goldfingers voice was utterly shocking i mean he doesnt sound at all like the original charater i mean the guy who voiced Goldfinger in Goldeneye: Rouge Agent was 1,000 times better and convincing

Jinx while i was not a fan of Halle Berry didnt feel like Jinx..the girl who voiced the charater was good but the model was just really poor they should have used Goodheads model for that charater atleast it actually looked right for the part.

Felix..oh Felix out of all the actors playing him: Jack Lord, David Hedison and Jeffrey White (the currently felix) why couldnt they use either one of them

and where the hell was Miranda Frost its disapointing that Rosmund Pike didnt have a role in the game because it would have made the die another day campagin seem less straight forward i mean what if you were sent to find Miss Frost in the beginning of the game and then encountered Jinx later..

i could go on but im tired so...

I am so horrible at online. My k/d, as CODers would say, is like 42/72. Needless to say, I've never won.

Sadly, I can also only ever find players in Legends mode. Would love to play Golden Gun or Escalation, two of my favorite modes, but clearly this game is not going to be a hot seller.

As for the campaign, I love it.

I'm only halfway through the second OHMSS level, so a lot to go, but I'm having a bast. Seems that the main part of it Bond fans are complaining about is that it isn't consistent with the movies. I knew that going into it, so it hasn't hampered my experience in the slightest. The parts that are updated keep it fresh, then you get parts at are identical, like the showdown with Oddjob in the vault.

It was and not for me to get a grin in my face with "Goldfinger" blaring as I stormed Fort Knox (btw, that silent niht vision bit was pretty clever. And nerve-wrecking).

As for the story not being connected, what more do you need? That being said, I'd like to see a montage of all the missions before he wakes up at the start of the Skyfall campaign. Have the key moment of each movie represented and show why he relived these particular stories in his mind above all. This probably won't happen.

I'm curious what they'll do for Skyfall as there doesn't seem to be a final lair in the movie, which has been their mold. Sure, there is
    Skyfall itself
but that doesn't really fit the games structure. Not quite large enough.

A lot of the set design is terrific. Very Ken Adams meets the modern Bond era.

I haven't seen much of this MP, but how is the online on the Xbox 360? Both 'QoS' and 'BloodStone' had really fun online components, but everywhere I go that sells this game, it's usually hidden away or at the bottom of shelves, so it worries me that there won't be a big fanbase if I buy it for cheap a few months from now.

Seems to be a great multiplayer, but almost nobody is playing. Everyone is on one game mode, Legends (non-team combat as villains) and its hard to fill one game of that. It's depressing.

That's very depressing. I find it hard to believe that so few people bought the game that barely one game mode can be filled. I may end up passing on this, then.

I used to have trouble with Bloodstone, depending on the time I was playing, but not like this. As much as I want to play story, I feel I should focus on multiplayer now that I have a chance. Who knows, the release of Skyfall or the Holiday's may pick things up.

@BritishChap007, that is true. I picked up QoS on the Xbox 360 for Christmas, and spent the entire break on a very active community having a blast. Things can only get better from here, I suppose.
