They have to do this. Cameras record in such high definition now that it's really easy to see doubles. All movies do it.
The only reason I noticed was because I had been debating about the use of CGI choppers in The Expendables 2 a couple of days before. It sort of stuck out to me because of that.
He lets himself get captured. Why? So he can save money on a planeticket to England?
If he just wanted M dead, why go through all the hassle?
This is why I have a massive issue with the film.
He risks everything he's worked for so why not just turn up at her home and do the deed there. Unless he was so desperate to destroy/discredit her and MI6 first then maybe that would explain it.
Personally I just didn't take to Silva. The sequence on his island was overblown and quite cringeworthy, it was very Moore/Brosnan especially when the helicopters arrived.
Why did the bother with a Bond girl?? She was totally superfluous to the film and only seemed to serve as shag material for Bond. Again more akin to a Moore flick.
I thought it was because he wante dto play a game with them. Instead of just goin in and killin M. He watned to be captured. He had a set focus which is different and i like that
It was all clearly explained in the movie. She wanted to meet M and look into her eyes one more time.
Again he could have just broken into her house to achieve this.
Because that would of been rubbish and no one would of watched it, to follow that argument, why didn't any of the previous 22 bad guys just shoot Bond in the head as soon as they knew who he was rather than explaining their entire master plan to him and devising some fiendishly clever and inventive method of killing him which he can inevitably escape from and save the day. It's supposed to be dramatic not sensible.

Secondly, when Bond is doing pull ups during his fitness test his legs are tied together with tape, yet when he drops to the ground his legs are separated.
Anyone got any more? This might be worthy if a separate thread if not already set up.
But when M and Kincade escape through the priesthole and exit on the moor the chapel is much, much farther away.
Maybe it would be a good opportunity for a slightly longer "Director's cut". I don't the feel the film to be overlong so would be happy with a version with a running time nearer 170 mins or so

how about dench already having a moneypenny in goldeneye to die another day then now mallory having a new money penny but she would be the original moneypenny.
dont get too caught up in it and just enjoy the film in itself I guess.

I want to know this too. It wasn't addressed at all in the final scenes.
I doubt this is deliberate referencing, but I also noticed Mallory poured M a cognac when she went to his office. In Goldeneye, Bond is offered a drink by M, and he says tro her that her predeccessors kept a fine bottle of cognac in his drawer.
