Is there a thread on here about the new motorised 'lights and sounds' cars? I'm looking for a list of all the different sizes and car makes done. I bought the 15cm QoS Aston Martin DBS today.

As far as I'm aware, no such thread exists, yet!

    Just received the Ambulance and....

Holy Smeg !!!! That's one motherfrakking HUGE box !!!

Seriously, here are the measurements (in cm): Length: 19 cm ; width : 10 cm ; height : 10,5 cm. Putting it in my display case will be impossible. At least not without some major rearrangements (and I'm talking about putting one shelf out, not just displacing a car).

By comparison, a regular box is 15 X 9 X 6 cm, a tall box (eg the Acrostar) is 15 X 9 X 8 cm, and a long box (the Bondola) is 19 X 9 X 7,5 cm (give or take one mm or two).

As for the model, it's fantastic. Now if I could find my triangular screwdriver head to put it in the right position...

Bought 120 - Mercedes from FYEO today and there have changed the price with € 1,00. The preview in number 119 have the old price as this also count for the preview of 121 in this number. The new price is € 13,99. This mean include this number and if there going to be 20 numbers after this one i pay € 21,00 more.

Received the Morris Minor today. Had some trouble figuring out where to put it. Before or after Fiona's Mustang ? Decided on after.

Curiously, I saw one at the WH Smith in Paris today. Didn't know they were selling it.

Yeah, I got those two too today. Both classic examples of the "blink and you'll miss 'em" category of vehicles that appear so fleetingly in their respective films that they barely register. Not hard to suspect that these are simply leftovers from more general car collections re-packaged to pad out this interminable series.

Hey guys? Is 129 in a standard case or a large one for the Ranch wagon?

It's a standard 'longer' case if that is understandable.

looking forward to the milk float next !!
But I bet we can all name more than 5 cars from the latest film.
Fingers crossed they do end it, as I for one can not give much more space up for the collection

I do understand you, largo2. If I had stayed at my old flat, I really don't know if I could have kept up with it (or at least how I could have exposed the cars).

But at least, this collection has allowed me to devise some rules for people who want to start a similar collection.

    1) Don't start a collection if you don't have the money to afford it. By which, I mean enough money in your disposable income (those pounds, dollars or euros you have left once you have paid the essentials) to afford as many cars of figurines or whatever the collection is per month.

    2) Don't start a collection if you don't have the agreement of the person(s) you live with. They might have other ideas about the space you'll have to dedicate to the collection (and even want to start a collection of their own).

3), and that's the most important part: Don't start a collection unless you have enough free space to store or expose it. If you may be able to scrounge enough money for the first point, and manage to obtain the agreement of your partner, or parents, or spouse, or flatmates, you will be quickly remembered that your flat or house is not the Tardis.

As for how to expose the collection, well, it depends of what the collection is. One word of advice, though: if you have a child or a cat, go directly for a display case.

Any other things I may have forgotten ?

Gerard I think that you have forgotten that none of your rules can be applied if the supplier extends the collection in perpetuity.

I have every one of these cars in boxes in my garage and I won't display them until it ends having already outgrown one cabinet I won't make the same mistake again.

This collection is now a labour of love! @-) I still get a feeling though that they will go beyond 135?!

Even though there are only 6 issues left, they will take three months to come out. A lot can happen in three months...

In fact, it does. When I say "enough space", I mean "see big". Have at least enough to expose a hundred models (given that space requirements change depending on what the collection is: figurines take less space than cars, which take less space than 1/72 planes). Let's remember that the collection started at 40 models, but we knew it would be extended. The other rules apply, given that the price for the models is monthly, and that you have to convince the people who live with you to give you enough space.

Personnaly, I have enough space left for one, maybe two display cases (I have already three, soon full to the brim). But I won't be able to start any other collection, that's for sure. Not now (for monetary reasons), not ever (for space reasons).

Recieved 130 yesterday! Surprised it is in a bigger case! But love the model, shame Necros was not in it?

Maybe cus it's the most famous Milk Float in the WORLD? LOL
  • can anyone think of any other cars that this collection has missed , there is red grants car and kerims rolls royce in frwl, a triumph herald convertible in tb ,and i think a zephyr or zodiac from tb , in you only live twice hendersons assasins car , a ford escort from ohmss, which played a bigger part than the mini that has already been featured, in daf there is mr wint and mr kidds car , the sherriffs car that stops bonds mustang , willard whytes security cars that chase the moon buggy , in lald you have mr bigs limo and , strothers car and a henchmans car that sherriff pepper stops , in the mwtgg you have a green rolls royce that bond is following , plus cops cars , bonds car in ltk, jumping forward a bit in skyfall there is new vw beetles , a black audi , a jaguar , police vehicle used by silva , i think the people that produce this collection should use a bit more imagination and not just finish at 135 .
