I totally disagree with your viewpoint. For me, Bond films should not be 'action' films - there are plenty of other films for that - they should escapist fantasies, where the the top alpha-male of the British state goes after the bad guys and wins, whilst enjoying himself and taking the audience with him. As for commercial success, this film is proving one of the most popular Bonds since the iconic Connery films of the '60s - and, let's face it, they can never be repeated. There will never be another Connery and the world has changed, just as there will never be another Beatles.
As i said, i totally disagree with your view, but that's what makes this Board fascinating - the kaleidoscope of views.
He probably means certain... :-?

But I'm not voting yet, I need to see Skyfall a few more times to make a final decision.

At the moment I find CR to be slightly better. Have only seen Skyfall once though, yet.
And according to many people here it gets a lot better the at the 2nd viewing.

Nolan idea in the dark knight action was more extream...if everyone say skyfall more dramatized in dark bond character ... why the action gonna be sacriface!!..in our country we have much bond big fans...and we have seen much the action movies but bond always favorite....part of them say istambul chase like jeremy renner motorcycle scene in bourn legacy...and liam nessson in taken 2 more hard...and fight scene in shanghai oww is under rated fight...scene in tube station?..ussual thing and final scene when silva and gangs attack...is boring.oh please i love bond....but after this????

I saw my first Bond film, From From Russia With Love, in November 1963 but nearly 50 years on, I absolutely loved this movie. A strong plot, great performances, excellent use of locations, a fabulous score by Thomas Newman, the best since TLD all contributed to what is for me, one of the very best Bond films. Up there with FRWL, OHMSS, TBL, TLD.
It's easily Craig's best Bond movie.
After 50 years and 23 films it's a great achievment for Eon to still be making films of this quality.
Bring back Thomas Newman and Sam Mendes for Bond 24, please.
I bet they speak English better than you speak their language.
This forum has people from all over the world.
I guess we will reach statistical significance soon.
Other than those two things, I thought there was a tad bit too much gunfire and explosions, almost overused in a way. However, I might have been sensitive to this because I saw the film in IMAX and everything was REALLY loud! But other than those two parts, I thought the film was fantastic! Severine and Silva did a great job portraying their characters so compellingly.
Does anyone agree? Haha :P
Edit: I just learned from previous posts that many of the parts that I described come from some of the Bond novels. I never knew that!
Of coursh they do ;)
But whenever I see something like that I sense something is not right. But if I'm wrong, sorry folks! \m/
It's a Geordie having a laugh
The acting, the cinematography, the pacing, the plot, and the proper use of Bond references all put Skyfall at #1 of the past 3 Bond films. Unlike many other Bond films, this one can truly stand on it's own. It does (masterfully) use the series' past (ie the Aston Martin at the end) to work off of the nostalgia that's there, but everything else is so rock solid that if the character's name was anything other than James Bond, it would still be successful.
The parliamentary enquiry was one of my favourite bits. Especially as we know from recent years they can provide real drama.
I loved Helen McCorry snarky MP. Obviously this is a rare bit of power and she makes the most of it by carpeting M and going to far. Mallory has to pull her into line. She reminds me of Harriet Harman/person.
It's difficult to decide, but I'm going to go with yes, Skyfall is the best out of Craig's three. I came to this decision because Bond was more "in character" in this one (which basically means "no sappy love story"). And even though it didn't follow the Bond formula completely, it still felt like a classic Bond movie.
