Is there someone who knows what music is playing when Bond and Silva try to hit a whiskey glass with their old guns? It's not on the OST. Even a movie clip with the music in it would help, allowing the use of SoundHound or Shazam.

This is what you're asking for, right?

Edit: Didn't see someone had helped you already!

I'm certain the end of Granborough Road is the end of the fight in the Komodo Dragon pit where Bond climbs out and makes the quip about the circle of life. Why is it attached to this track?

Because Granborough Road was used for the fight

Well, mixing tracks on a soundtrack album has always been done. For example, the track Bond Back In Action Again was in the middle of the Goldfinger soundtrack album. And In FYEO, the track Melina's revenge is comprised of two tracks that happen at different moments of the movie : the one when Melina swears revenge over her dead parents, and the one where Bond dispatches Blofeld.

So I'm not surprised that tracks are mixed on the SF soundtrack album. What bothers me is that "exclusive only to iTunes" track. That's all.

There are quite a few unreleased tracks, such as that excellent Bond theme played during Silva's capture, the gunbarrel Bond theme (derived from Arnold's "The Name's Bond... James Bond"), and some other minor cues. Hopefully these are made available in the near future.

There was a discussion about this on another thread. I think Trenet was gay and suffered some persecution because of it. Some people were reading a lot into the significance of the song.

Is there a gay theme in the film? Tanner and M having strange makeup, Bond having that weird hairdo when he´s at the casino, now this song...? Just wondering.

Oh. I'd never have thought of it that way. Both songs are kind of love songs. "Boum" is pronounced like "boom", and stylistically the Trenet track suits the Island and The Animals track the arrival of the helicopter. Plus doubling the "boom" at the end is appropriate as well. I thought the songs were perfect, I can totally see Silva picking them for those occasions. Hilarious (still makes me laugh) and ingenious choices by the movie makers.

Since I put the tracks in order all of a sudden I find it a great score. Each track leads nicely into the next. Interesting, I haven't experienced such problems with any of the Barry scores.
Releasing the SF score in that strange track order was the brightest idea since the official release of the DAD CD.

The guitar string makes me feel very patriotic, and I'm not even British!
Anyone who can get me this version will be my lifelong hero.

It´s weird that it wasn´t added to the CD. It´s not very long and would have fit onto the CD easily.

It's this and the end credits that are really missing, the 50th anniversary and no full bond-theme anywhere on the CD. opportunity - wasted, if you ask me...

It would also be veritable to put track 19. Granborough Road, between 12. Someone usually dies, and 04. Severine, since it is the track played when Bond has the fight in the pit with the Komodo Dragons. The same track is played during the chase towards Granborough Road, hence the track title, but in the latter scene neither the flutes in the breaks nor the tiny James Bond theme at the end are heard, either because they were edited out or drowned in action noises. Either way, neither the flutes nor the theme at the end really fit to the chase scene.
For the enjoyment of the CD, both orders are nice.

  • Just wondering what the ultimate Skyfall playlist is, using the commercial CD, the FYC 2CD set, the title song and Old dog, new tricks'. If anybody has done this, I'd be interested to see it. Thanks
  • One of the most complete is this 44 track version that I listen to:
