In the interview, Joe Scarborough (the host and a former politician...it's mostly a political show) said that Scarborough's Dad saw all the Bond movies and took him to see all of Roger's Bond movies. Roger was there to promote his new book. He said in the book, he wrote that Sean was the best Bond ever. But if he didn't have to complete the book when he did, he would have seen Skyfall and concluded that Daniel was the best Bond. They asked Rog about the gadgets and which was his favorite. Roger said that none of the gadgets actually worked. His favorite was the magnetic watch that unzipped Madeline Smith. Rog said that there was a stagehand who actually was unzipping her with whatever device was being used. He said that they did about 28 takes of the scene because the stagehand kept saying that "I didn't get that quite right". LOL. Roger was asked about filming LALD in New Orleans and talked about the opening that included his friend Bob Dix playing a CIA agent, ending up in the casket. One of the people on the show (Mark Halperin of Time Magazine) told Rog that he didn't agree with him that Daniel is the best Bond ever. Rather, he said, "You (Moore) are the best Bond ever. Later after Rog had left, Joe asked Halperin whether he was just "kissing up" to Rog. Halperin said, "No, bring Connery here, and I'll tell him that to his face".
Roger was asked who was his favorite Bond girl. And he quickly answered his wife Kristina. The questioner said, you answered that like you have been asked that question many times. Scarborough responded "Now we know why Bond survived the many times he was in a tight spot. Roger also reiterated that Spy was his favorite Bond movie he did because of Lewis Gilbert having the same sense of humor and Curt Jergens being such a nice person, Barbara Bach being easy on the eyes, etc. They showed a clip of TSWLM. During the segment, they played music from Spy, Octopussy and For Your Eyes Only.
I haven't done this interview justice. I wrote what I remembered. Roger told some funny short stories. Morning Joe has many, many segments on. The next person who came on said FYEO was his favorite Bond movie. At the end of Morning Joe, the 4 interviewers always answer what they learned on that day's show (which is a 3 hour show....Roger was on about 10-15 minutes). 3 of the 4 questioners all referred to Roger. The woman interviewer said she learned that Roger was very nice and very charming. Another questioner said he learned that all 4 questioners favorite Bond song was "Live And Let Die". Halperin was holding on to Roger's new book.
I accidently had Morning Joe on in the background (don't always watch). Luckily I heard Joe say that Rog was coming on. Made my day. Being that Roger is in New York today, I wonder if he will be on Piers Morgan Tonight to publicize his book. I think I'll tune in just in case.

Wow I hope I'm still able to fly around the world at 85! For those Roger Moore fans who haven't yet seen it, can I recommend you seek out 'The man who haunted himself', a really fantastic film and one that proves Sir Rog can indeed act when he puts his mind to it!
