And a $544,278,946 total. Very good going. Let's hope for a strong weekend in the US.
    Adjusted numbers are always wrong.

Even when done by an inflation calculator? I think not. What makes you say that?

Boxoffice.com guesses it would be $48M for its second weekend.

That's really good. I think we were hoping for around $50 million and that would be spot on. We could have the record of $168 in the US beaten by Sunday. My, this film is doing well. :D

It would be a big drop, I hope for something near $60M

I agree, 45-50 million would be a disappointing drop. Hopefully though the upcoming Thanksgiving day in the States will get the families out in droves to see Skyfall!

$569 million world wide to date. Should overtake " Question of Sport" by end of week!

I say it will do around $25-30 mill in Australia (whenever it's released over there)

Question just is, how much Twilight will take away from it.

Predictions seem to be in the $40-50m range this weekend. Which is a good drop, especially when considering the final twilight movie is out tonight, considering all the hype will by accounts be huge, with many suggesting $150m+ domestic opening weekend alone.
Twilight won’t really detract from Bond in the long run as they play to entirely different audiences. The release of Breaking Dawn Part 2 this weekend will however take a serious bite out of SF's profits this weekend, but film's always drop in their second weeks its jsut unfortunate it had to be Twilight opening today, with SF's good-word-of-mouth and strong reviews it could have sustained its postions well.

It will hurt it this weekend, but overall won't take away from the good word of mouth and many still want to see it. It will recover in the following weekends.

QOS had a disappointing second weekend back in 2008 in the States. QOS fell 60.4% compared to its first weekend. CR held on much better: Second weekend drop of only 24.6%, but then again the first weekend opening for CR was a bit tame.

40% would be ok considering TL
  • Another 27 more to tie with Casino Royale's takings.

I'm still astonished that we've managed to smash the UK B.O. apart. Well done guys and gals, I'm so proud. Rule, Brittania!

  • I think it is going to be very difficult to get 50 million in USA, Twilight is getting all the attention. I would bet 40-45 million.

I'm truly hoping that by the end of Skyfall's theatrical run around the world, it will have a larger worldwide gross that Breaking Dawn Part 2.

It can be done - if analysts are predicting $800m worldwide from Skyfall, that may just be enough to put Breaking Dawn 2 in second place. (The highest grossing Twilight film sits at just over $700m.) Skyfall will IN NO WAY beat Twilight in the United States, but one can hope it can come out on top from the world's help.

    Please, oh please.

To be honest the film is a critical and financial success already. It's brought in new blood to Bond. That's all that matters. This twatlight rivalry is a non-event. Bond is no.1 in the Uk and that is good enough for me and James Bond will return.

Did anyone get the file name that M throws down on his table, is that the new Bond 24 film title?
  • Deadline box office is expecting a 31 million weekend for SF. Twilight is going to mame more tan 130 million and Lincoln 20.
If that comes true with 2 full days still to come, I think, many just stay out of the theaters to not get into the woohoo of teenagers and whatnot. It will be back on its feet.

That's a huge drop, unfortunately. Can it still reach 200 million at this point?

Its far from over yet - the weekend. Its just estimates. And even if true, it will regain its strength.

I don;t think "Top Secret" would a very good title for B24!

Well, last week Deadline estimates were accurate so they are probably right this week too. They say it dropped 65%...it's a huge drop, it will need to regain in the next weeks, otherwise it will be impossible to reach 200m.
  • For what its worth: I went to see it again at my local cinema last night and it was really packed, despite them showing it on 2 screens, and it already having been out for weeks.
  • Friday estimates: 11.8 million. Weekend estimates: 38 million. +200 million are a safe bet.

It's looking like $40.4 million now. That's much better. We're still on track for over $200 million.

What will the International take be this weekend? Last week was $89 million, so maybe just under $70 million? Or lower? $800 million may be in the bag but $900 million is still going to be a push to reach. Looking good so far, though.

$200 mil US is a lock no way can it drop hard enough to not reach it. It should make at least $50 mil internationally as twilight is opening almost everywhere 61 terrioties i believe providing huge competition for screens and will take a way the latest big blockbuster effect sky fall has had for 3 weeks.

Before the film was released many were predicting around $220 million, which looks like the figure we may more or less end up with.
