Since we already have the Connery vs. Brosnan and Connery vs. Moore film threads, I figure I'd give this one a go:

GE>LALD
TMWTGG>TND
TSWLM>TWINE
MR>DAD

Moore wins 3 out of 4. Moore takes the victory cup here.

3-1 to Moore. I shalln't say which one Brosnan wins as it could cause a bit of a stir.

Well, it's tied up for me. The killer would have been each actor's third, but I'd probably give TSWLM the win once you get down to it.

    GE beats LALD
    TND beats TMWTGG
    TSWLM beats TWINE
    MR beats DAD

    You've made me curious, haha.

    GE>>>LALD
    TND>>>MWTGG (just)
    TSWLM>>>TWINE
    MR>>>DAD

    2.2 for this one.

    4-0 for Sir Rog.

    GE>LALD
    TND>TMWTGG
    TSWLM>TWINE
    MR>DAD

Looks like Brosnan gets away with two out of four votes. Needless to say that if TMWTGG had been replaced by another film, it would have been a mere one out of four votes. You see, no matter which film competes with GE, it's bound to lose in any list I put together, almost by default. I have more love for GE, partially fed by nostalgia, than for any of the Moores.
  • Clean sweep 4-0 for Brosnan for me.

@DarthDimi, GE beats anything in my eyes.
  • LALD>GE
    TMWTGG=TND (I can't decide. They're both pretty bad)
    TSWLM>TWINE
    MR>DAD

    Moore wins out.

    GE > LALD
    TND < TMWTGG
    TSWLM > TWINE
MR > DAD (Only just - at #16 and #17 on my list so this could change easily )

A 3-1 win for Moore but only just in the 4th tie.
  • LALD over GE (GE had better action, but it's not just action that makes a film)
TND over TMWTGG (Latter is a bland Bond film, former is more entertaining)
TSWLM over TWINE (It's The Spy Who Loved Me. Come on)
DAD over MR (Both so silly, but DAD is kinda cool if this is in more of a fantasy context. The laser fight in space from MR makes me want to strangle a young child based on how bloody crap it looks.)

I prefer Moore as Bond though.
  • Tried to respond to another thread that got recently closed..

Who is the better Bond between Moore and Brosnan ?

I got three votes for Moore and one for Brosnan from this

I don't quite know, who was the better Bond overall, both were serious, and both had questionable moments and ill advised humor. I liked Brosnan as Bond but hated two of his releases, and the same goes for Moore also !

At least Brosnan didn't go into outer space or get involved with double taking pigeons so he for now, can be a winner

Get back to this when more time is available

    Play nice
  • GE > LALD
    TND > TMWTGG
    TSWLM > TWINE
    MR > DAD

2-2, but Moore is my favorite of the two.
  • GE>LALD (LALD is fun but GE is just brilliant)
TND>TMWTGG (not a huge fan of either but I rank TND higher)
TSWLM>TWINE (I love both so that was a tough one)
MR>DAD (both have good first halfs but are let down in the 2nd half by stupid stuff. But DAD has Mr Kil, so MR wins).

Tie for me, but I prefer Brosnan as Bond.
  • Brosnan.

    There is no contest.
    Roger Moore WAS James Bond.

A 3-1 victory for Brosnan, as follows:

    Round 1 - GE>LALD
    Round 2 - TND>TMWTGG
    Round 3 - TSWLM>TWINE
Round 4 - DAD>MR (both utter tripe, but DAD edges it)

But who do I prefer as Bond? Funnily enough, it's Moore.

    Moore wins 4-0 easily.
  • LALD = GE (GE is a better film, but I have a sentimental spot for LALD)
TWTTGG > TND (TMWTGG is less bad than TND)
TSWLM > TWINE (the best from both actors, but TSWLM is an all-time camp classic)
MR > DAD ( both suffer from the bad last hour issue, but the first 1.5 hours of MR was pretty good)

    Moore 3-1-1
  • For me, Bronsan was the better Bond.

GoldenEye > Live and Let Die
Tomorrow Never Dies > The Man With the Golden Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me > The World is Not Enough (As much as I love TWINE...)
    Moonraker > Die Another Day

    It's a tie for me!
  • Much as I don't really enjoy Die Another Day, I still find it to be a more watchable movie than Moonraker.

Moore was eaily the better Bond. Any comparison involving Brozza will always end up in the same result, as he was easily the worst Bond of the entire franchise. He also appeared in the worst movies of the franchise too.

Have to be honest. Only ever liked TSWLM and FYEO from Moore. Some were patchily enjoyable (LALD, Moonraker) and the rest were just "meh". His last two were just a bit embarrassing.
  • Moore. the best Bond. Brosnan is at the fifth place.

    1. Moore
    2. Connery
    3. Lazenby
    4. Craig
    5. Brosnan
    6. Dalton-
  • I've long thought Bronsan's performances were considerably weakened because he often seemed to be trying to honor so many different interpretations of the character rather than just have one of his own. In that way, I think Moore was superior; like it or not, he came up with his own unique portrayal.
