Craig's Bond have they made it hard to look at the older Bond films

or is it just me? I just can't watch most of them apart from Connery's FRWL and GF and OHMSS plus LTK.

seen Casino Royale was like for someone listening to Punk rock for the first time in 76. Just everything that came before was just worthless. Craig's Bond was kick ass, totally human spy who suffered and didn't depend on gadgets to get him out of a fight or shag 5 women with a cheesy one liner thrown in every 2 minutes. Plus Seen a Actor do his own stunts was amazing (too many times seen actors play Bond depend on their stuntmen was annoying, apart from Dalton) and actually having great scripts and top class acting talent was a nice change. They made Bond important again and if i had to chose three Bond films to take a Desert island with me they would be Craigs.

I just wonder did anyone else feel the same

    Not at all, they only improve with age.

    I don't really tend to do this with anything. I think it's probably symptomatic of modern society where the new thing is the best and everything that came before is redundant. Apple tend to excute this strategy with aplomb. For me, it's just another era that has as much merit as those that preceeded it.
  • No I still love the old one's, lots of them more than DCs films. CR I feel mixed on, Qos I hated and SF I really liked, so for me Craigs era hasn't been the golden era people seem to think it is.

    @RC7 I agree with you.
  • I think some stand the test of time against Craig TB OHMSS LTK a lot of the others do seem weak now

    Not really? I think its great to see how the films have grown and been developed since the early 60's! I love going back in time and watching the older movies!
  • It makes it harder for me to watch a lot of them. There are still some in there I find very enjoyable, though (From Russia With Love, Dr. No, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Living Daylights, License to Kill, Goldeneye, and Tomorrow Never Dies).

    The good ones remain good, and no new movie can change that.

    I actually enjoy the older ones more having seen Craigs work so far. He is an okay 007 but not my favorite by a long shot.

    Ditto. I think DC is okay but not the new messiah. Watching him makes me appreciate how good Sean, Rog and Tim were in their own different ways. DC still feels like hee's trying too hard for my liking. His commitment to the part is commendable but it can be tiresome to watch. I'd love it if he carried the role more lightly.
  • Todays Bond is so far detached from Connery in the 1960s I don't need to elaborate on it. Times change, Bond changes. I do miss the 'sensible' days sometimes, Connery at his absolute best and no whizzing around the screen at breakneck speed or fancy jumps and stunts like an Olympic event

    Craig has resembled a flea on amphetamines at points during his tenure, and while a good Bond, just seemed a bit questionable with some of the more high risk stunts and performances. Craig works well for 21st Century Bond, but as a fan and observer of the long, and sometimes lost, days of Bond, it can be hard to comprehend sometimes all the fast paced action and crazy antics, but he does impress though

    Its above all else, now a different generation of Bond, we have moved on significantly from years ago and while the modern take is maybe not for everyone, we have to accept and adjust to changes, no matter how rapid they may evolve sometimes
