I have the feeling, Hobbit is hyped, just because its Hobbit and I have seen 4 stars reviews.. I predict, it will clearly win in the ww, but SF has a chance to remain 1 in the UK. There is NO chance for it not become no 1 spot in the US, but I have hope, SF will be 2 before TL.

i'm confused you think Twilight and Skyfall are competing for no2 in the US? If so there is no chance in the world Skyfall or TL will finish no2 in the US this year. Hobbit will finish probably 2nd W.W for 2012 behind the Avengers a slim chance at passing the Avengers With Skyfall in 3rd or 4th W.W for 2012.

Yes - Hobbit at 1, SF maybe at 2 - overall it might not beat SF in the UK, but will outgross it ww.

    That'd be my prediction, too.

Btw, Skyfall is racing in France to be the first Yearly #1 Bond ever here (even GF and TB had to be "only" #2 and #3 behind Louis de Funes at that time...). It still has some legs to beat Ice Age 4, and then there's the Hobbit.

The current status is Ice Age 4 : 6.588 M viewers "final", and Skyfall : 6.352M ongoing including 220.000 done this week. The first rough computation says that with a 50% steady fall, it will end 6.570M, just behind it. And 50% may be a too strong hypothesis.

"Alas", final box office are not so final(*), one has to wait for a few months to have the real final figures (differences can then be significative and cannot be predicted, it's only accounting stuff "really" taking into account "everything"...).

Also, Ice 4 will be re-released here during Xmas in a few cinemas.

(*)for the anecdote, TDKR is still been shown in a few US cinemas. This Monday for instance, it did 3000$...

The official figures are now 6390M tickets sold in France. Just 198 thousands tickets behind Ice Age 4.

Any idea how much longer Skyfall will be in theatres in Canada / USA?

This is what I was wondering. I'll be completely free and on Christmas Break around December 17th, and I was hoping the film would still be in theaters so my friends and I could go out to see it.

I wanted to take my dad to see it on the 15th or 16th. I called the theatre in my city, but they only keep the schedule up to the next tuesday. So far, it seems like it'll still be in theatres.

Another update of the 'Spy/Action Movies-list'. Take in mind that for, more or less, accurate comparisons, most of the below action/spy movies are produced in 1987 or later. Actually, most of them were produced after the 1990's.

Furthermore, I have updated the list in such a way now, so that you can also use it as a 'watchlist'. Movies with a '▪' are part of a spy/actionhero movie franchise. Movies with a '▫' are rebooted movies or remakes. Movies with a '∞' are based on previous tv-series.

Predictions for 'Skyfall' in the upcoming weekend look very rosy. Bond will most likely return to 1st spot in the USA. And after upcoming weekend 'Skyfall' will have most likely banked $285 million, passing the $900 million worldwide gross on Monday.

Meanwhile, 'The Dark Knight Rises' is still adding 'small amounts' of money to its worldwide gross. Will 'Skyfall' stay in cinemas much longer than previous Bond films too? *UPDATED THURSDAY DECEMBER 6TH 2012*:

Will probably spend longer in theatre's then QOS but about the same as Casino Royale as QOS fell apart quick so was out of theatres fairly quickly i can imagine it will spend a similar amount of time in theatre's as Casino Royale did.

@Gustav_Graves an interesting but flawed list if you are including Batman but not any other superhero / comic book movies.

If SKYFALL continues the trend it's on, $300 million in the US will happen. It's just a matter of time.

I'd expect 1 billion worldwide as well, once China has had it's say.
