    Spetacular!! Congratulations Skyfall!

I regret of not having been positive about it.

Well done! So dose this make SF the most successful bond of all time? Either way what an amazing result.

Ironically, we hit a Billion on the 50th page of this thread, in the 50th year of Bond. :)

And even more ironically, this post is on the 51st page.

    Very cool ;)

It's $37 million away from beating TB and becoming the highest grossing Bond film of all time, and it's $81 million away from beating 'The Dark Knight Rises' - something I never would have thought possible - and becoming the second highest grossing film of 2012.

Wow just an incredible accomplishment for a series that has had so many roadblocks along the way to get here. This almost assures Bond will return for at least another 50. Congrats 007!
  • Amazing! Congratulations Skyfall!

Even more amazing, it took the DK 33 weeks and SF onl 8.

Wow, really? I hadn't even noticed that. It took less than 1/4 the time for SF to reach that, then. That is insane.

On another note, this is what Jeff Blake (Sony vice chairman) said:

“To see a film connect with audiences is always gratifying but the success of this film is nothing short of extraordinary. After 50 years of entertaining audiences all over the world, Skyfall is the most successful James Bond film of all time.”

But, it's still $37 million behind TB. I suppose he's not speaking in inflated gross.

Nearly last day of its 50th Anniversary, Bond gives us the biggest present of them all.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I look the boxoffice chart and I still can´t believe it.

Congratulations and thanks to all Bond fans worldwide. I´m thinking now in Saltzman and Cubby and can´t find words for them...

Not a single penny of that BILLION is for me, but today I´m happier than yesterday...

I'm happy to know I contributed almost $100 of that - a very small amount, but it still feels wonderful. I'm going to celebrate and see this for a sixth time in a few days! I was going to decide against it and wait for blu-ray, but why not?

Amazing. For some time now it's been just a matter of time, really, but I'm happy it got there before the end of the year. Fantastic news. Can't wait to get home from my hols so that I can go watch it again to celebrate (my 6th time, too). Congratulations to everyone involved, especially to Barbara, Michael, Daniel and Sam - and obviously all the fans of Skyfall.

With three weeks until release in China, we stand a chance of beating Thunderball before the 21st, if not we'll be damn close.

I wonder if this $1 billion landmark for SF will inject some more funds and moviegoers into more viewings of the film, or if it will just stay the same. I would enjoy seeing an increase.

The DVD/BD release can now be advertised on TV as a 'Billion Dollar Bond' with a line at the end indicating it's still showing.

Brilliant news :D I don't think any of us saw this coming when the film was coming out. Who would've thought it'd do this well?

    Now lets beat Batman.

And people like Blond Bond and Craignotbond are really in minority. Sure they can make a lot of noise, but they are really small groups. :)) Now they must be eating their hat.

That was proven ages ago after CR came out. Honestly I didn't even think those groups were still around, I only ever hear them mentioned by people who actually like Craig.

Skyfall has also crossed £100 million this weekend in the UK, becoming the first film to do so.
  • Well deserved! Skyfall was a great Bond film.

    Billion dollar Bond!
I might still prefer Casino Royale over Skyfall but i never thought i'd see this.
    Incrediable!
  • Yes, this is incredible. I thought we'd be crawling towards a billion dollars now because of the drastically reduced number of screens in North America.

As for the CraigNotBond crowd, they seemed to shut up quite a bit (at least outside of their own site) once CR surpassed DAD. I can't even imagine the bitterness they must feel about SF hitting a billion dollars. Of course, they might use it to justify how they have "superior tastes" to the masses and how this puts them in the small, elite group of "true" Bond fans (in their own minds, of course).

And we don't even have to rely on Red China to get to the Billion!

Billion Dollar Bond!!!. Amazing! I hope it beats TDKR ... SF was much much better quality wise! Craig should make three billion dollar bonds in a row and go out on a high note!

    Congratulations SF !!!!! <:-P <:-P <:-P

I'll celebrate it by watching the movie one more time :)
  • Fantastic news! The highest grossing ever. Bond is the hottest thing going right now. The future is incredibly secure. The crown jewel of the movie world.

No tah. Like I said in the Adele thread, it's as if it's been following me around. I'm sick of it now.

:O Not possible. You can't get sick of a Bond song. :P

just joking. I know that many songs out there (not Skyfall, for me) are very sickable after a long time.
