I know how you feel! In fact, the film got better and better with each viewing. I think I'm going to cave in a few days and see it one last time in theaters, making it a sixth for me. I'm tied with QoS right now at five.
Also i find, if you didnt enjoy film first time round, it could of been due to disturbances in the packed theatre, or you generally werent relaxed enough on that particular day.
Saying this though, a second viewing of QOS did not improve the film to me, with its lack of plot, lack of character development, wobbly camera work, and truly absymal editing.
I therefore conclude, that a film has to be good in the first place, to expect it to be even better in subsequent viewings.........but do spread your viewings apart some time.
I remember seeing films such as 'Last Night' and 'Hostel: Part II' in HD online weeks before the films were released in theaters.
In 2013, that is.
That brings my total up to 18 viewings. And I can honestly say, hand on heart, that it's every bit as wonderful this year as it was last!
The screen (at the Showcase Cinema De Lux in Derby) was about half full - which for a Thursday afternoon performance that's not during a holiday, that isn't on a bargain day (like "Orange Wednesday" et al) and is of a film that has been on general release for the better part of three months is bloody good going.
That you do, Nick! I believe someone on here said he saw it over 25 times. Unbelievable. I only managed five viewings before they took it out of theaters here.
That's how I am with home releases. Once a film comes and goes in theaters, that's it: unless it's the rare Academy Award nominated return to theaters, or #th Anniversary re-release, it's incredibly unlikely that I will see the movie again in theaters. So, I soak up the experience as much as I can and never regret it. Saw 'Django Unchained' three times in theaters, and it was beautiful and worth every single penny.
When films come out on blu-ray and I get them, I sometimes wait months to watch them. If it's a film I was anticipating, I immediately watch it, though.
And now, just for fun- the above statement translated using only Bond film title language!:
Say, for a man to view (and love!) Skyfall only twice with me eyes is not enough, no? Only quantum- for Skyfall is gold and diamonds! Solace is to live another day and view the royale Skyfall again and forever, for tomorrow never dies! 8-}
(NB: My first Non-Bond flick of the year will definitely be 'Django Unchained'. So looking forward to that one!)

Which, as it happens was the first thing I heard the two women leaving the theatre right behind me discuss. I paid attention and walked slightly slowlier... They talked how beautiful it was, the use of colours, light and reflections ( - I wanted to add "silhouettes" - )... They admired how wonderful the actors were... They loved the Britishness of it, they loved the DB5, they loved the tube crash... I just smiled and silently agreed with everything... then... silence... I looked back, they had turned a corner, damn...

I couldn't possibly agree more - that's why I soaked up as many viewings as I could when it was out in theaters here in the States. The blu-ray will look amazing, sure, but it still won't match the beauty of theaters.
I really thought my SF cinematic journey was at an end. The film had disappeared from my local Cineworld and nearest Showcase weeks ago - so I figured that was that. But I then found out there was a one-off showing at the Birmingham Odeon today.
It turned out to be a slightly surreal experience as it was a 'Senior Screen' performance for old age pensioners! The lady on the ticket desk had to check with her supervisor that it was alright for me to attend the showing. Thankfully she said it would be okay. The ticket price was only £3 and it came with a free cuppa.
It was a sizeable auditorium and was absolutely packed to the rafters with hundreds of over-65's. I must confess I initially felt somewhat out of place. And it's certainly the first time since turning 50 last year that I've felt young!
But the reaction of the audience to the film was fantastic. They ooh'd, ahh'd and gasped, they laughed heartily at all the right moments and I noticed some of them jump at the MI6 HQ explosion. Not surprisingly the biggest reaction was for the DB5 reveal. It was clear that they thoroughly enjoyed the film... as did I, funnily enough!
So is that finally it? Will I ever see this wonderful film again on the big screen? Probably not, given that it comes out on DVD/BLU on Monday. But... never say never!
Next time you'll get near 24 for 24 I suspect!
