  • Two days before my 18th birthday, thank you God.
  • Not sure if I trust a site using fan art as the poster. Albeit, good fan art.

But it is in line of the release dates for CR and QoS releases for home entertainment.

I'll get it for easter as I normally get something bond related for easter (One year it was the novel colonel sun which i really enjoyed)

It could be a wild guess at the date with the person knowing when the film is usually released, or not...

The official announcements come in January for Bond, so we have a while to wait yet.
  • how much will the blue ray cost? $50 to 60?

I put this in the 'SKYFALL - the shots that ended up on the cutting room floor (Spoilers)' thread.
Well, I don't know anything have information about Skyfall but you could look at the previous Bond's and it might give you an idea.
    Casino Royale: Premiere - 14th November. DVD release - 16th March 2007
Quantum of Solace: Premiere - 29th October. DVD release - 18th March 2009
So if that's anything to got off, mid-March. If I had to guess off this information my guess would be 15th March 2013.
I just guessed that it would be mid-March and on a Friday like Casino Royale's release was. Seems like an educated guess and the packaging seems to be fan art too.

Sound about right but will await official confirmation?
  • Just a note for my fellow Americans in case you hadn't heard. I was in FYE yesterday and the DVD will be released on February 12th. The cost will be about $25 US and if you put down a $5 deposit they will also on a limited basis include free of additional charge, the official SF poster. The salesperson said it would be the size of the regular lobby poster hanging on the wall, not obviously the super sized floor poster. Thought you'd like to know.

I go to school in the Chicago Loop and there's a big FYE there and they were promoting this very same thing. I usually don't buy new movies at FYE but that promo sounds a little too good to resist.

I saw that yesterday, and while I was enticed to cave and reserve it, I refuse to pay overpriced prices such as that. FYE is such a ripoff anymore, with a good portion of 'on sale' blu-rays reaching the $30 or $40 range. I was also contemplating reserving it, receiving the poster, and canceling the reserve, but I surmised that would be too much of a headache. Plus, I remember getting screwed out of a poster for 'The Punisher' when I reserved it there on DVD many years ago.

If it comes out in February then why does this thread seem to date the release as March 15th?
  • According to this, the US gets it before the UK this time - payback for our getting the theatrical release first - Feb 12th for you, 18th for us

Because this thread is months old, one of many and was made when no official date was in place.

This is insane. It seems like just yesterday that I saw Skyfall, and soon it will be out for massive consumption.

We got the premiere? Yeah if you were lucky enough to get tickets. I wasn't prepared to stomach the 2nd hand prices for it either. I'm not made of money.

We got one or two exhibitions but you got rereleases of films in cinemas. If anything we're about even.

There were a few rereleases in America in some places. SirHenry went to see Goldfinger if I remember right.

Ah but the Americans that own Bond are in London.

I think it's sort of a nice partnership. A British authour writes great books and Americans make some great films based on (or not based on) them. Works for me.

    That's fair enough.

  • I'm very much looking forward to its release. I had my eye on the Steelbook HMV exclusive, not sure if this will see the light of day now HMV are on the brink of collapse :(

I look forward too; I didn't had the chance to watch it in the theaters; so i'm waiting and holding up hardly, trying to not getting a pirate movie from Torrent and give my help to the Domestic millions :)
  • I would bet the steelbook will still be available from HMV in mid-Feb...they are still trading
