    Skyfall: Collector's Edition
Features Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Copy

    Extra Features
    - Inside Skyfall: An inside look into the filming of the 23rd Bond movie narrated by Patrick MacNee
    - Everything or Nothing: An outlook on the beginnings of the Bond series until present.
    - The Royal World Premiere
    - Deleted Scenes
    - All Trailers and TV Spots
    - All the Video Blogs
    - 007 and the London Olympics: Features Happy and Glorious and the Behind the Scenes look
    - Commentary by Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, and Sam Mendes
    - Commentary by Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, and Javier Bardem

I hope this is what happens, do you know it to be so or are you just guessing?

All this is just wishful thinking in the extreme.

I think I'm right in saying the last film to have an 'Inside...' doc with Patrick Macnee is LTK? I would say the likelihood of this appearing for SF is about 1%.

I've already discussed the release of EON above but there's simply no way they will give that away for free (unless perhaps you live in North Anerica obviously).

There ought to be some premiere footage and all the video blogs that we have seen ad infinitum will definitely be included.

The Olympics opening ceremony? Not sure - it's a question of who owns that film and I would imagine its the Olympic people rather than EON. If anyone's seen the Olympic box set that came out recently is it on that? If it is I'd be surprised if it would then be allowed for EON to use it as the Olympic rights are draconian in what you can and can't show. The deal on the table probably was 'we want to use Bond and its a great free advert for your film but if you want to haggle forget it and we'll use Harry Potter instead.'

For the initial release we'll most likely get the video blogs and some trailers a la QOS hoping for anything more is deluding yourself. Given SFs stunning success though they can't not release a proper collectors edition but I would expect that for next Christmas.
  • The film will be released in the UK on 18 February 2013 on DVD and Blu-Ray and in North America on 12 March 2013.

It's at the bottom of the page for Skyfall on wikipedia.org

Let's hope the Blu-ray website have the correct date. Three weeks earlier seems very unusual though with the differing release of a two weeks in cinemas, one can understand why.
  • -Gag reel
-Behind the scenes of the filming of Skyfall
    -Skyfall premiere from London/Japan/Australia/Etc
-Everything or Nothing:The Untold Story of 007
    -Director Commentary from Sam Mendas
    -Deleted scenes
    -Behind the scene photo gallary
-TV spots & trailer for Skyfall
-Interview with Michael G. Wilson & Barbara Broccoli
    -Video blogs

I know that Skyfall is still a long way from release, but I am still starting to think of the eventual DVD/Blu Ray of the film. One thing I hated about Sony's part in the last two films were the two mediocre DVD releases of the films. CR eventually did get a really cool 3 disc DVD but the original 2 disc release and the 2 disc QoS DVD was pretty lacking in terms of features. Also given that this is Bond's 50th, what do you think should be included on this DVD when it is released?

    I would like

-A great in depth documentery with lots of good interviews
-The return of the MI6 triva from the DAD dvd
    -Deleted Scenes
    -Commentary from Mendes/Craig/Wilson&Babs
-And some sort of great "50 years of Bond" feature

excellent post mate ! i was very disappointed from casino royal and quantum of solace features dvd's , not many features at all , i am sure skyfall will have more this time around

They should release a collector's edition SKYFALL Blu-Ray, with loads of extras, commentary, some type of collector's item, and an expanded edition of Newman's score.

Heh, well, the bit about the score is just wishful thinking. That's about as likely as Sony including a free Omega watch in the package.

I'm still curious as to why (the last time I looked) SF on blu-ray was listed at $28. Do they always do this with pre-orders, and the price just lowers from there? It's not a Criterion Collection film, so it leads me to believe it's packed with extras, a pre-order deal, or possibly a steelcase.

What I've learned is that you can never trust online prices on DVDs/Blu Rays. What I've begun to do is go to Best Buy or Target on day 1 of release and they'll have the combo pack for about 20 dollars. I'll be doing this for TDKR on Tuesday

I saw the update & yes were getting Special features. I read carefully. I won't be surprised it 1 Disc should be 2 discs, Disc 1 for the movie & the other Behind the scenes. Like I said before all of other James Movies have 2 Disc although last time there Options.

I'm very glad we're getting commentary! But I hope the other special features are not just the video blogs we've already seen plus a little more footage

I'm confused, Blu ray.com is saying the U.S is getting this Feb 12th, surely not before the UK release of Feb 18th?

I can't believe this would be released their before over here considering out 2 week cinema release before the U.S

What is going on, surely we can have some major blu ray releases first?

a few years ago- CR maybe? Seems each big box place had some little doo-dad along with it- I got CR @ BB and it came with a small Corgi Vanquish.

Yeah, but with Blu-rays there is a lot more space so there may be no need for those editions to be two discs. I prefer one disc releases anyway.

Indeed. Seems to be a fair trade.

It would be fine if you guys didn't get all the best releases best special feautures all the time, have you seen the UK release of Chinatown on Blu ray? Luckily I ordered it on Region A. I now have a Region free player but before the frustration of not been able to get Criterion film due to the region coding.

Personally I find it silly that you get the Blu before us Brits and that as we have the Bafta on the 11th they should have capitalised on that but no it seems the timing is right out.

Here's hoping we get a month in advance on Bond 24.

In France, it's announced for march 1st. We'll get the DVD (one disc), the blu-ray, and the trilogy (CR/QOS/SF).

I understand where you're coming from but your also being a little harsh. Getting the film early is WAY better than the Blu Ray. For two weeks, I basically had to stay away from the Internet and not talk to people about my most anticipated movie. So as it's only a few days difference for the Blu Ray, I'd say it's nothing to complain about my friend.

OK, now the DVD is Feb 12, I just noticed this. Thought it was the 18th. Wow, the DVD is out less than a month and a half after the cinemas. It took Goldeneye like 2 years to get to retail?

Aye. I remember when The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day got video releases around the month of May.

Yeah, films these days usually come out on DVD ranging from 3 to 5 months after it's opening release at the cinema.

This is ridiculous. I know the 2 year wait back in the days of VHS was ridiculous but SF is still listed as having 8 screenings today at Odeon Leicester Sq yet in a fortnight I'll be able to by it?
I suppose we have global internet piracy to thank for such quick releases these days?

I haven't seen it since October so I'm alright with the quick release. I never see a film more than twice at the flicks anyway. I like waiting for the DVD, makes it seem fresher. If I go and see it again and again at the cinema like many on here did I'm not sure I'd be able to sit through the whole thing after my 3rd viewing.

Not that I don't mind waiting a few days, but you lot had a free documentary that we had to pay for (or would have had to if it wasn't for an amazing MI6 member who put it on Youtube) and that plenty of countries didn't get at all, so stop bitching :P

Why pay for it? Download it online. Therefore, everyone had equal chance to watch it.

That's like saying if a movie isn't released in certain countries (like Chinese Zodiac recently), it doesn't matter, because everybody has an equal chance to watch it because they can download it online. It was released to you for free. It was pirated to us for free and released in cinemas so you'd have to pay. I did manage to watch it but there's a difference.

I don't download any films online because I don't trust dodgy sites. I used to use Megaupload but that's gone.

If it wasn't for somebody put it on youtube I wouldn't have seen the film. In America it was guaranteed free from a safe website.
