Or they could write in a plot that involves a coastal battle, where the attackers come by sea.
Spitballing, they could have an evil super hero pit the Americans and Chinese against each other by overtaking China or Russia or the frick ever has a Navy, and Auquaman uses his powers to take out the ships and stuff.
I DONT KNOW they can make it work. They made Hawkeye work. Somehow.
Really good cast QsAssistant.
I actually had a really cool dream last night. In it I was viewing the first trailer for the next Batman reboot. It had a slightly darker tone than Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. In one of the shots Batman is sitting in his, fire place lit, living room with his suit on without the mask and cape. The suit was a very dark grey and wasn't rubber or armor. He was going through papers and evidence doing detective work, like how Batman is supposed to do! Then of course a few shots of action scenes. The plot seemed to focus around a villian who's goal was to cause horrific acts against the people of Gotham before getting his revenge by killing Batman.
Not sure if Batman has an enemy called the Jackal but the title of it was Batman: Let the Jackal Go
And Batman was played by... Karl Urban!
I think Bradley Cooper is a great choice but after that dream I feel Karl Urban could be really great in this role.
Personally I always Felt the Reaper would make for a good film villain my opinion only
I thought I was the only one who loved Cooper for Batman and the rest of your cast is spot on as well :D
And I second Karl Urban as Bats
Also- there's a guy on this board (I forget who at the moment, sorry) who had recommended Scott Adkins as a potential James Bond, but IMO he'd be perfect for Batman! I could easily picture him knocking out a room full of badguys with his barehands and the audience just dropping their jaws
"According to Latino-Review, the final five members of the onscreen JLA are Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Green Lantern."-- from http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/24/justice-league-movies-roster-revealed
I like the sound of this team- better to keep it small and not cram too many 'dull' characters into the first movie
Me :)
No surprises. Was hoping for Aquaman, I don't understand why you would omit your most visually diverse character. Avengers don't have anyone like him.
Hopefully they'll feature a cameo of my favourtie DC character of all-time. Arm Fall Off Boy!
Black or Snyder?
Justice League has been worked on since 2007 and six years on, still nothing. :))
Joss Whedon wasn't exactly unknown before Avengers. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, Dollhouse. He gave up two lines for X-Men (one of which being the infamous "What happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning"), and has been writing comics for years, too.
I mean, how many members of the Justice League could carry a whole movie by themselves-- Batman, Superman, sure. Green Lantern happened but most people hated it. Wonder Woman? She's popular but how many would see a movie with just her in it? If there was a Wonder Woman movie I'd likely watch it on Netflix (BTW, I still haven't seen Green Lantern) That's it, really. I love The Flash, but even I know he probably couldn't carry a movie on his own.
Every member of The Avengers had (or at lease was featured in) an individual movie, and I saw each one in the theatre. That's why The Avengers movie was an EVENT.
With a Justice League movie they will either have to release it with a ton of characters appearing for the first time, or spit out a handfull of crap movies like on a conveyer belt to set up for the 'team up' movie.
Personally I'd rather see "World's Finest"
That's just Batman & Superman for those who don't follow comics. It could certainly star Henry Cavill. Likely a brand new actor for Batman, separate from the 'Nolanverse', BUT Christian Bale did say that he'd be open to return if the situation called for it.
World's Finest featuring Cavill & Bale would be the movie of my dreams!!!
This is mostly true. The best part about Marvel's characters is that they can each be enjoyed in a film by themselves. That, and they can get actors that truly embody what's right about the characters. With DC films, I don't know if it's just because all the good actors have been stolen by Marvel, or because they prefer to use unknowns, but their actors don't really fit the characters that often. Christian Bale worked for Batman, but Joseph Gorden Levitt doesn't work at all for Robin. Henry Cavill looks like he'll do a good job as Superman, but Laurence Fishbourne as Perry White? Nope.
Robert Downey Jr. worked as Iron Man. He actually looked like the comic book Tony Stark hopped right off the page. Mark Rufalo (and Edward Norton, but not Eric Bana) played Bruce Banner exactly the right way. Samuel L. Jackson just plain is Nick Fury. I agree with the Fury of the Ultimates, there's no one else who could play that role (read Ultimates volume 1, issue 3 or 4 to understand what I'm talking about). Andrew Garfield looks like, sounds like, just plain acts like Spider-Man. Thomas Jane was the best choice for the Punisher, though Ray Stevenson did a good job, too. I prefer him as Volstagg, though.
Their best choice right now is to just make a movie with a ton of characters. DC keeps pushing out cartoons by the dozen every year, so we all know the characters by this point.
There's a guy who uploaded a fanedit on YouTube that takes episodes of Smallville and bits and pieces of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and turned that into a pretty good World's Finest movie. The edits work pretty well in most cases.
Oh, come on, there's plenty of brilliant and compelling characters in the JLA! There's Batman for starters, and...ah....and then there's...uhmm...there's-.....ah.....
I AM THE NIGHT!
*flaps cap and runs away*
I'm game. Put two characters together who can work in a film together, then try and slip in a half dozen.
Or a Trinity movie. Problem with JLA is that unlike Avengers there's at least 7 major characters - Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter - that demands attention. Whereas in the Avengers there's only 4 - Iron Man, Captain, Thor and Hulk (Who really was not all that well developed and focused). When you add the villains in there as well, then you might as well go on to make two 3-hour long movies.
