Uhm friends? Daniel Craig's hairline is retreating a la Connery :-/

I knew we had a hair thread around here somewhere! Just hopped out of the shower and for fun I tried to do my hair like Dalton in LTK. What do you think? Unfortunately my hair likes to curl a bit on its own so it won't stay like this long :(

It's not too bad IMO.

Besides these days there are things you can do to save hair for a fraction of the Skyfall budget lol

Unlike Sir Sean's cranial follicles, the mighty hair thread has returned! I belong to the category of members who support the belief that Craig has not receded, and it's only the length of his hair that deludes us. In fact, I'm highly surprised there isn't a poll for this. Yes, what a superb idea. Mods, where are you?

Wow, that looks magnificent! A real fashion statement. =D>

Georgi will pay, of course.

I'm sorry to hear that. Might I suggest using this:

http://i01.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/104785911/JAMES_BOND_KARATE_KING_HAIR_POMADE.jpg

When applying James Bond Hair Pomade, slick the hair right back, ensuring it still covers the top half of your ears. This last step is vital- DaltonBond never exposed his upper ear lobes, as it can be seen as a sign of weakness. Now all you need to do is whack a ciggie in the side of your lip and you're ready to stuff your orders and go rogue! Best of luck, mate!
• Not sure if you're aware of this but sometimes when people get older, their hairlines recede. Just throwing that out there.

Agreed. As someone who started losing his hair at 19, I know only too well. Now, I look more like Blofeld than Bond :))
• Fortunately, as proven by Connery, the quality of a Bond performance has no correlation with an actor's receding hairline. Craig won't lose his acting ability as the hair leaps from his head. It doesn't really matter. Better Craig than a walking hair-do as MI6's finest agent.

Hmmm, not sure I agree with this. I would say the worse the wig got the worse Connery got culminating in the follicle atrocity that was NSNA.

This is one of the reasons I miss the old site.
• I like Craig's hairline. That pic of him with the hair slicked back reminds me of the drawing of Bond commissioned by Fleming.

I'd loved to have seen Fleming draw his own idea of what Bond looks like.

He's a writer-here's his drawing:

Another thing I don't see being considered, or at least talked about, is Craig's tenure has been going on a while now.

GE-1995
TND- 1997
TWINE- 1999
DAD- 2002

CR- 2006
QOS- 2008
SF- 2012

He's almost gone as long as Brosnan now, even though it doesn't feel it because of one less movie. Brosnan looked up there in age in DAD.
• Brosnan was definitely beginning to show his age a little in DAD. One thing I never really liked was Brosnan's hair in TWINE or DAD. It looked too stiff and always in place for it to be that long. Feel like it made him look a little older as well. Would've loved to see Moore end in '83 or so, Dalton from '85-'91 and then Brosnan from '93-'03.

It is weird to see that Craig's been in the role for this long now. Can't believe it was 6 years ago I watched CR in the theater.

The producers could consider letting Craig's hair grow a bit for Bond 24. That will stop people thinking he's going bald. ;)

Some people tend to mention the colour of his hair or his height - as if they're negatives - rather than his hairline. His hairline seems okay to me, haven't noticed much difference over the years.
• I'd like that. Or at least like in Casino Royale
• Word is Daniel has had some 'hair help', personally I think its rather obvious that he has. It's nothing to be ashamed of, if I was going bald and I had the money to fix it I'd definitely do something about it.
Look here:

His hair line is very bad here and this snap is from 2007, but in the Bond films it isn't really that much of a noticeable issue.

That's what I thought. I saw a timeline and was really surprised by it. I felt like Brosnan was Bond forever and still see Craig as the new guy. I suppose it's just a product of getting older.

I am quite young and yet his hasn't felt long for me either. Time is a cruel wizard.

Craig's hair was too short in Skyfall. He looks more handsome the way he has it in CR. The short hair on the side in SF make his ears stick out too much. I can't understand why they cut it so damn short.

I think it was cut that way to emphasise the burnt out, tired look they were going for. I think it's universally agrees around here that his hairstyle post filming SF is better and a more ideal look.

As my girlfriend put it during the opening scene of SF (the approaching Silhouette ):" even if you wouldn't already know it's Bond, you would recognize him from the winglike Ears."

Would it really matter if Bond was balding?

You are soo right. Of course, YOU know better then I do. I am sure, you missed my posts to hit on them. If you say he's receding, he is since young age. Certainly since he is 30. Seems like a REAL slow progression then :D
He has had that hairline for many, many years and if I remember right, someone posted a pic with a short cut from 6 years ago, which seemed more receding then now. So - its all in the eye of the beholder and certainly a question of how the hair is cut or combed.
BTW - THIS will be it. Not gonna engage in this sort of debate.

As far as I am concerned - for you -. he can be as receding as you want him to be. I am fine with that. Its just not a fact.

I think hair is overrated ;)
his hairline didn't look much different back in 2003 or 2007 than now in 2013.
a bit of length just covers it up

Personally I'm not concerned if the actor is balding, but on screen Bond shouldn't be.
That said, I haven't paid much attention to Craig off screen but in Skyfall he looked fine. Super short hair, but not balding. I do hope it's longer in the next one
