  • Sanchez in LTK. Because bond really earned that one. The final moment when bond kills him is just so cool.

There are plenty to choose from but i would have to go for DC's second kill! Section Chief Dryden! Calm, Cool, Ruthless, and brutal! Simply done and brilliantly filmed!

Agreed! One of my favorites as well.
  • Sanchez definitely comes to mind. An amazing scene.

As for the newer movies, the fight with Obanno (I think that's his name?) in CR was pretty brutal, and the choreography of the fight was excellent.

The latter is definitely one of Bond's brilliant kills, where he uses his mind over a Q gadget or a weapon he is currently using.
  • A damn good question. I'll have to give it some thought. Right off the top of my head though was in Casino Royale when Bond slipped that detonator onto the terrorists belt. Bond just had the coolest (and sadistic) smirk on his face, and I vividly remember the audience erupting with laughter and applause when I saw it opening day! That guy got OWNED

You know, that whole plane scene could have made a great PTS if it wasn't used in CR already! An intense chase and action scene, capped off with a brilliant kill! Camera stops on Bond's smile and BAM- opening credits! :D

@Master_Dahark: That's not a bad idea! It would have been more thrilling than CR's current PTS, which is not bad or anything, but is a little too short and lacks energy.

Now there's a good topic! Bond's best kills of nameless characters! I'm sure we could come up with thousands! One of mine would be the Emile Locque thug who is up in the loft thing in the warehouse, and he keeps shooting at Bond and Colombo, and finally Bond takes him out with one pistol shot from between the barrels the thug was hiding behind. Epic Roger Moore kill!

Just watched TSWLM yesterday, and I'd say that Stromberg's death is one of Bond's most ruthless and cold kills. One shot probably would have done it, but Bond thought otherwise! Also, the first two shots were a little too low, if you get my meaning, so that boosts the ruthlessness even more.

If I stay with it long enough now I may indeed get to that bit but needless to say know all Bond releases back to front and inside out for the most part so know what's going to happen, Moore's about to rescue some captive crew members at the moment and seems immune to bullets and gunfire in his general direction for some reason but the Stromberg killing is yet to come, it's arguably one of Moore's most ruthless 007 moments along with the Locque moment in FYEO, none of the childish ass clowning around in later films, just a harsh reality and cold bloodedness as what you'd tend to expect from James Bond.

I was thinking reading this that perhaps Connerys best kill was on the tarantula in the hotel room, great piece of action and unintentionally hilarious.

Most Bond head villains had lame exits, Kananga, Zorin, Kristatos, Kamal Khan etc and their downfalls sometimes were their own doing, but when Bond was involved it didn't have to be cold blooded kills, i.e. I enjoyed the Whitaker death in Daylights, Drax in Moonraker and so on, is there a best Bond kill though?, I suppose they all worked in their own way, I've actually been more impressed with some Bond bad types disposing of threats and enemies than Bond himself actually doing the killing if I'm honest

^ I thought Moore was fantastic when pulling off the cold blooded Bond feel. It's a shame he didn't stand for it as an actor.

    Elvis in QOS

Does that count? His death was more a consequence of Bond's actions than a direct kill.

You could say that about a lot of Bond's kills.

He didn't kill Silva, the knife did.
He didn't kill Sanchez, the flame and explosion did
He didn't kill Dr. No, the acid did.
He didn't kill Goldfinger, the cabin pressure did
He didn't kill Grant, the garrote did

And so on. You can find a loophole around everything. It's the old "people don't kill people, guns kill people" argument.

Except Bond killed Silva by throwing a knife at him, he killed Sanchez by setting fire to him, he killed Dr No by throwing him into acid, etc.

With Elvis, Bond caused a fire that Elvis ended up dying in. It probably still counts but it's not as, let's say direct, as some of the others.

He did die in QOS. So that's why I put him on the list.

    For me:

    DN - Professor Dent

    TB - Vargas

    CR - Section Chief Dryden

I actually think the reported death of Dominic Greene in QOS was great. If left a lot to the imagination.

Here's some of the coldest kills:
