Ha ha, you're funny. Tell me another joke.

I'd place Skyfall and Casino Royale level, with Quantum easily last.

In my opinion CR is Craig's best Bond movie but SF is Craig's best performance. I'm a big fan of both and there are my 2nd and 4th favorites. But perhaps CR is slighly better because cames frome a Fleming novel (and a very good one).

I think his best performance was in QoS. He just became Bond.

My opinion is the complete opposite. I think SF is his best movie but CR was his best performance.

Actually apart from Lazenby and Dalton (who I think was equally good in both) I'm not sure any of my favourite movies from each actor have their best performance.

My favourite Connery is YOLT but I think his best performance was probably Goldfinger or Thunderball, my favourite Moore film is Spy but I think his best performance was Octopussy and my favourite Brosnan is Goldeneye but I think his best performance was DAD.
  • Somebody around here compared the Casino Royale/Skyfall dichotomy to the From Russia With Love/Goldfinger split.

I split the difference, putting Goldfinger above From Russia With Love (admittedly, they're #s 1 and 2), but Casino Royale over Skyfall (#s 3 and 6, respectively). All are fine films of course, but Casino Royale's Fleming, less-prone-to-collapse plot, and presence of a Bond girl put it over Skyfall.
  • As much as I enjoyed Skyfall, I walked out thinking CR was better and I still do. So for me it's CR, SF, and then QOS.

oooooooh its so close between Casino royale and Skyfall for my favourite James Bond film ever. But i give the nod to Skyfall just cause of the last third is just epic with Bond kicking ass. But both films are epic. I think Craig's best Bond performance is in QOS. But lets be honest his performances in all three films have been great.

I love QOS (flaws and all) but do think its his performance that holds it together.

    I agree
  • I think Skyfall is better than Casino Royale just because it is more of a Bond film. Casino Royale is a fantastic film but I feel that it doesnt have enough of those classic Bond moments that Skyfall brought back so perfectly. Skyfall wins for this guy.

That's interesting. I still have great regard for Craig's performance in CR (and QOS if that matters).
But we do have some coincidences for both Moore, Dalton and Brosnan.

    Summary:
    - Connery
    M: FRWL
    P: FRWL
    - Moore
    M: TSWLM
    P: TSWLM & OP
    Dalton:
    M: TLD
    P: TLD & LTK
    Brosnan
    M: GE
    P: GE & DAD
    Craig
    M: CR
    P: SF

where M stands for favorite movie and P for best performance.

If someone thought Skyfall was a poor release and warranted a bottom five place, that's good enough. It's their decision. Not everyone has it as a favorite release. That can be appreciated, although I have it on the verge of a top five position, but it's hardly the best Bond release the franchise has ever seen

You'll forgive me if I leave. Goodnight

CR is better in my book. It's a more personal story for Bond and therefore more satisfying than SF.

Money is no indicator of quality. If that was the case the Michael Bay Transformer films would be held akin to classic films. 8-|

I think @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 was commenting that box office clout has no indication on the quality of the movie. ;-). Hence Transformers

"Box office is no guarantee of quality"
"And youth is no guarantee of innovation" =))

    Skyfall is superior.
Casino Royale looks like it was filmed in a Czech tax haven to save pennies.
    And guess what?
    It was.
A shameful blight on the series that gave is sumptuous vistas.
    Piz Gloria, Blofeld's volcano, Palmyra.
    All beautiful.
    What does Royale give us?
A poor man's vision of an airport, filmed in Czech republic.
    It's meant to be Miami.
But you can see the people are all downtrodden eastern Europeans.

EON finally got it right with Skyfall =D>

Funny that of the two, CR actually uses locations, SF is primarily shot at Pinewood. The most exotic location being Turkey.
