Craig's hair was too short in Skyfall. He looks more handsome the way he has it in CR. The short hair on the side in SF make his ears stick out too much. I can't understand why they cut it so damn short.

As my girlfriend put it during the opening scene of SF (the approaching Silhouette ):" even if you wouldn't already know it's Bond, you would recognize him from the winglike Ears."

That would be my bloody problem too. My ears sometimes pick up radio stations...

Meh, no big deal. He just needs to grow it out a bit for the next film. It was too short in Skyfall.

    He's certainly receding.

You are soo right. Of course, YOU know better then I do. I am sure, you missed my posts to hit on them. If you say he's receding, he is since young age. Certainly since he is 30. Seems like a REAL slow progression then :D
He has had that hairline for many, many years and if I remember right, someone posted a pic with a short cut from 6 years ago, which seemed more receding then now. So - its all in the eye of the beholder and certainly a question of how the hair is cut or combed.
BTW - THIS will be it. Not gonna engage in this sort of debate.

As far as I am concerned - for you -. he can be as receding as you want him to be. I am fine with that. Its just not a fact.

Poor RC7, demanding others to do what he should've done a long time ago.

He was pushing it a bit but ancient? Nah. He looked his age (50s) but he wasn't that bad and probably could've done one more in 2004.

Moore on the other hand was miles too old in AVTAK. I think it's wierd, in OP he looked fine, he seemed to have aged really quickly inbetween his last two flicks.

Facial lift and removal of a mole does that to a man...

I wonder how it would age King Daniel.

Never knew Moore had a facelift.

Meh. I think he looked fine and deserved a better send off than DAD.

So we're knocking Pierce's appearance now as well? I always thought he looked very good, even in DAD. If we're talking age and looks he knocks DC out of the park. However much I enjoy Dan's movies he's already looking old and he's certainly never looked like the Bond of my imagination or that of Fleming.

With 'potbelly' being the topic of discussion I'm leaning more towards physical fitness. Please do not try to advocate for Pierce outdoing DC in that aspect too, because it will be impossible to have a serious discussion about it.

Why are we having a debate about how a Bond actors hair grows. I go to see Bond in action, not focus on his hair style or even lack of it. Maybe I saw nothing wrong with Craig's hair in his most recent release. Is it not as full as his Casino Royale debut then ? Can't say I gave it much notice

If a Bond actor is evidently out of shape as Connery was in DAF or even Brosnan in DAD, then it's an issue, but if Bond is losing a hair follicle or two, It's no international incident

Same. I do think he aged better than Craig did.

Brosnan was (I think) roughly the same age as Craig is now around the time of TND and TWINE and I think he looked much better.

Maybe but the Major difference is, Craig looks more believable doing the stuff what Bond does than Brosnan or any other Bond actor ever did and that's the long and short of it (pun not intended) As for Fleming, this may be controversial but what his "idea" of Bond looking like is somewhat of a non entity. He hated the look of Connery at first and then later changed his mind, we've had Moore who some believe is the best and the guy doesn't remotely resemble or act anything like Bond at all. We have Craig, who is arguably the most popular Bond since Connery and most importantly Fleming is dead; it's not like the man is going to rise up from the grave and start throwing out objections.

That's true. Craig doing the parkour in CR is more believable than Moore dangling of a moving Zeppelin, for example.

lol now I'm imagining Moore doing the freerunning scene from CR :))

Oh a hair thread is back and fully operational - things are getting back to normal! ;)

For me, his hair is the same (talking about Craig - back on topic). He looks great. Personally, I'd like it a bit longer in the next Bond flick.

If Moore had a facelift for AVTAK then it was a pretty bad one, I thought it was supposed to make you look younger? Not convinced he had one, age just has a way of catching up, especially when you get into the late 50's.

If Daniel Craig is losing his hair ala Connery, he'll just wear a hair-piece ala Connery. Problem solved.

Yep, Craig looks pretty dang close to this! More so than any other Bond actor thus far.

I think that a lot depends on how long one wears his hair. Roger, for example, wore his hair short in LALD and TMWTGG. It made him look 10 years younger. But, he inexplicably had longer hair in Spy and beyond. Consequently, I felt he aged more than 3 years since TMWTGG, when he did Spy.

But such an overly exaggerated (to put it politely) comment can easily be ignored. Saying Pierce looked too old is like saying the Pope is not Catholic; it makes no sense. DAD had numerous problems, but Pierce look good throughout his entire tenure.

If you wanted to talk about Roger being too old, that's a different story.

I didn't think Brosnan looked that bad in DAD. I think him going up against Tobey who was younger and supremely in better physical shape made Brosnan look a tad ridiculous and out of shape (fencing fight scenes). As fir Connery in DAF, I don't even count that because Connery wasn't even there to entertain or be Bond. He did the film solely to serve another purpose so GE really didn't give a toss about how he looked which says a lot when you consider he was in better shape 12/13 years later for NSNA.

I think Brosnan and Sir Roger are very similar in this regard. Both are very good-looking men who aged quite gracefully. But the problem they both had in their final films was that they were unbelievable in the action sequences. Brosnan was carrying a fair bit of weight around the middle in DAD (more than Connery in DAF) which was particularly noticeable in the fencing sequence.

I felt the idea of an ageing Bond is best dealt with in FYEO where it's briefly acknowledged and Bond's character is slightly adapted - it's the only film where he seems to be portrayed as a man in late middle-age.

And, on the issue of Bond's hairline, I agree with @Krisvic's very relevant post - Fleming's Bond was receding quite noticeably at the temples in the only "official" Fleming image we have of him.

Sadly, it's the way most of us gents are destined to go - I think Lazenby is the only Bond to have had a full head of hair during his entire tenure (and that's because he was only 29!). Dalton and Craig both have visibly receding hairlines, whilst Connery, Moore and Brosnan all wore toupées at some point.

Did Brosnan really wear a toupee? Looking at him now, he still seems to have a mostly full head of hair. I hadn't heard it about Sir Rog either, but it looks plausible since he's without almost all of his hair now.

Brosnan just wore a very small one in Dad to cover a single bald spot. He gave an interview with a US newspaper at about the time of DAD explaining - in a very good-natured and humorous manner - that he just had to wear it in some scenes. (I think it was USA Today - I read it online at the time but I've just done a quick Google search and I can't find it)

I think it was the same for Sir Rog in a few of his later films. Just a very small hairpiece to cover a particular spot. His hairstyle in the 80s films also seems "swept across" to cover it. I can't remember where I first read it unfortunately (and may very well be misremembering) but if you look at some non-Bond photos from the time you can see his hair is noticeably thinner than Bond's. E.g. this one, which looks to be from the mid-to-late 70s:

    Bond%20vs%20Bond.jpg

Have to say though that Sir Rog and Brosnan must have made a pact with the devil: they looked better in their 50s than most of us look in our 30s!
