Are the DVD reissues basically the same Bond remastered DVDs?

So the Bond movies have finally been reissued and are back on the shelves. So is it just the covers that have been changed?
Are the new DVDs basically the same as the Bond Remastered DVDs but with a different cover?

    They should be the same. The new covers come with the new Blu-Ray releases, and they were reprinted for an updated DVD selection as well.

    No need for an update then! Looks like I'll be keeping my mixed collection of Special 007 Editions and Ultimate Editions!

    Yes they are, and 1 disc too, with hugely limitied features. Booooo! :-(

    should I buy a bond remastered off line as I have been doing then do you think - or buy the new reissued cover copies off the shelf?

    These are all now down to around £3.70 each on Amazon ... they will be in the 99p bin soon at all bad petrol stations! - where is the desirability this year and what a year to mess up. The Goldeneye DVD states - Frame by Frame Restoration as a feature (ahem 2006 anyone?) and sports 1 commentary. Great. =D>

    I was in HMV today (when aren't I), and they had the DVD reissues for £3 each.

    I think it's quite obvious that MGM are simply using the back catalogue to boost awareness for Skyfall which is great in some respects in terms of box office potential but I cant help but feel it is downgrading our beloved franchise and cheapening the quality of the series. This should have been a solid gold year. :((

    Too true. They are boosting awareness with as little effort possible. These are now the 3rd re-issue of the UE DVD's. :-w

    same in my HMV - I liked the MGM Bond Remastered covers better - and indeed have rebought the films up till Live and Let Die in the Bond remastered editions - today I did buy the 3£ copy of the newly issued Live and Let Die; mainly because I want to watch the film this friday and couldnt get a copy in time, and partly because I want to see how these new 'reissues compare' lol

    OK - so like I said I bought one of the reissued versions of the James Bond DVDs - namely Live and Let Die - because I didn't have time to get another version from Amazon,

    Is it just me, or is the remastering on Live and Let Die a tad dodgy in places? Or maybe it's this reissue DVD that's dodgy?? the level of lighting - and therefore light cast on an actor -seems to change at times. Maybe it is because they had alot to clean up and remaster with Live and Let Die???
    I think I'll go on amazon again and but my trusted releases of these DVDs lol =

    The covers for these new releases are APPALLING. Check out Dalton on the Licence to Kill box - he's been photoshopped beyond all recognition.

    Is it possible for someone to photoshop away the text, because i like those pictures and would be grateful to have them as a wallpaper!

    Actually, I just saw The Spy Who Loved Me cover, and it's simply one of the worst DVD covers ever made.

    You have to check this out. Thanks to the wonders of photoshop, Roger Moore now has a face made of plastercine and bushy ginger eyebrows. Unbelievably awful.

    i have to say that The Blu Rays are exactly the same as The 2006 Ultimate Issues
    having spent $130 on the boxset which the only thing they changed was the menu
    of Casino Royale so it goes with the other dvds (Dr No- Die Another Day) except they messed up by not fixing QOS with the menu

    You're right it is The Spy Who Loved Me with the weird Roger Moore image, but thats the wrong link. Its the photoshopped picture on the back...

    I have the Ultimate Edition DVDs...so I'm not missing much?

    I honestly don't care if I don't own first 20 Bond movies are on blu-ray.

    Unless you take into account the reason you bought the DVD's. Nothing quite beats SF on Blu-Ray, it's a beauty.

    I plan on getting SF on blu-ray. Probably QOS and CR too (I have the barebones QOS DVD....barely any special features.)
