Michael Ironside might have worked as Falco, given a better script. I think we could also have gone with Withacker, Wade and even more recently Beam.

I can see Kate Winslet as Miranda Frost or perhaps even Onatopp, though it would be hard to replace Femke.

Stellan Skarsgard is a truly wonderful actor IMO. Mr White? Greene?

Michael Ironside could've played a really dark, twisted, and scary Brad Whitaker. Kate Winslet could've done a lot with the Christmas Jones character, She could've given her much more depth and personality. Stellan Skarsgard could have added some more to the General Ourumov character in Goldeneye. Particularly the scene on the train with Alec.

Michael Ironside, either Hugo Drax in a faithful adaptation or Jack Spang (I know, I know, the Spangs have not appeared yet in the movies, but still).

Stellan Skarsgard, I always picture him as Blofeld.

    Michelle Pfeiffer- Xenia Onatopp
    Oliver Reed- Bert Saxby
    Clive Owen- Bond

Pheiffer would be my Miranda Frost!
Ollie Reed would be my Hugo Drax!
Clive Owen would be James Bond!

Michael Ironside would make a great Emile Loque!!! :D
    Kate Winslet possibly Moneypenny?
Stellan Skarsgard would be a great Blofeld!

Ironside - Davidov, or maybe Aris Kristatos, or even Hugo Drax. (struggling on that one)

Winslet - I don't know, I really don't. Maybe Miranda Frost or even Bibi Dahl (!)

Skarsgard - Vargas, or Max Largo from Never Say Never Again. Even Brad Whitaker seems feasible

    I love Skarsgard! :)
He would be Leiter, first of all, for me (I like him as a good guy). Secondly, as a villain Carver - I think he would have been really good at that one. Or Renard - hmmm. He would have put some umph into Renard, yes.

Winslet - Elektra (she so has the acting chops), and if we are keeping the ages real (which kills me at times) then I'd want her as Moneypenny in Skyfall. How's that for thinking creatively? I just like her and want her in a big enough role.

Ironside - He has an interesting face; I do not know his age. So I will go with LeChiffre or Greene for him. Smaller role as Beam.

Oh and I just thought of a role for Clive Owen: one of the spectre henchmen in FRWL or TB. Maybe the Bond impersonator that is used for Grant to practice on. Ok I'm mean, but that's how little I can picture him as Bond.

Re: Owen - I(ve never seen him as Bond either. He would be a henchman for me, too. Or maybe Graves.

Ironside as either Blofeld or Bill Tanner in Goldeneye
Winset as Helga Brant in YOLT
    Skarsgard as Tanner in Skyfall

Since Winslet and Mendes divorced, and acrimoniously if I am not mistaken, her playing anything in Skyfall or a future Bond movie with her ex husband directing is highly unlikely (and I know this is not a thread about whether it is likely or not).

Maybe Graves, yes. Owen might have played him more serious and it would have give the character some kind of quality. He certainly looks more threatening than Toby Stephens. Or people would have wanted him as far away as James Bond as possible.

Colm Meaney could have been playing Tanner since GE and might excel at it.

Romy, dear sad Romy, might have worked as Helga in YOLT or maybe Fiona, when given a bigger part.

Vinnie Jones, imagine him in a Bond film. Stamper? He would have given the role extra muscle if not gravitas. :D

Vinnie Jones? No sorry, I could not and would not imagine him near a Bond film.

Colm Meaney - Greg Beam. He plays slimy characters so well

Romy- Helga Brant is as good a shout as any.

    Vinnie Jones?

Seriously, @WillyGalore? :D Imagine him in TND with that cool English accent, "I owe you an unpleasant death, mister Bond." I can see it work much better than with the blonde Götz Otto personally. ;-)

Being as I am English myself @DarthDimi, let me assure you that in no way is Jones' accent "cool" ;-)

I'll chip in here and agree that when I think of cool, Vinnie Jones does not come to mind.

I have no idea who I'd cast him as in a Bond film. Maybe Patrice. No acting required.

Colm Meaney I would have as Brad Whittaker.

Romy Schneider would make a great Melina Havelock! :x

Vinnie Jones would be Bull from TWINE.

That explains why I like him best in non-speaking parts. ;-) Any reason you dislike him so much, @WillyGalore? :-)

I see. Well, I have virtually no affiliation with sports, so perhaps that explains why my first encounter with Vinnie the actor, which was in Gone In 60 Seconds where he didn't talk for most of the film and just looked perpetually angry, was okay. ;-) I also quite like him in some of hose Guy Richie films and especially in The Midnight Meat Train.

This, for any football fan in England, pretty much sums up Jones. He was just a thug in a football kit:

Note the time mark at 2min2sec. Still holds the record I think for the fastest yellow card. Just 3 seconds!

  • @WillyGalore For a second I thought you put Vinnie Jones as Helga Brandt. Now there's a laugh!
Meaney - not sure about him. Perhaps Whitaker, I was even thinking Valentin Zukofsky (!). (These can be quite tricky often enough)

Schneider - Helga Brandt, Miranda Frost, maybe Plenty O Toole

Jones - British soccer player turned "actor" is all I know, but where to put him. Bullion was the first thought, but if not that, then one of Elliot Carver's Hamburg thugs, or even Grunther from On Her Majestys Secret Service. I always struggle a little with these in my defense

    54. Colm Meaney be with Daniel Craig in Layercake. Foreign Secretary in QOS. The part that now is played by Tim Pigott-Smith who whas earlier in P&W written Johny English.
    55. Romy Schneider as Dr. Holly Goodhead in Moonraker.

    56. That picture you at inspyred me a bit: Vinnie Jones as other secret agent CR with the a litle change that the name of the chacter is same name as his: Vinnie insteed of Carter.

James Bond: Stop touching your ear.
    Vinnie: Sorry?
James Bond: Put your hand down!

or Steven Obanno. Part is now played by Isaach De Bankolé, who's part possible inspyred 20th Century ask him later for bit of simalar part but extented in 24. Mabey Bankole the part of Felix Leiter in CR. At the time i saw some footage The Limits of Control i get a bit of dejavu feeling, then i remember it whas guy from CR and 24. Since I'm not familiar with Ford and Poots I don't have a comment, but for Kelley, I'd say Felix Leiter during the 60's. He has that Southern sound to his voice which is perfect because Fleming's Felix was from Texas. "Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a Spy!" :)

    Ford as Mr White.
    Imogen as Fields.
DeForest was so cool, he could have been Moneypenny for all I care. ;-) But okay, Kristatos might have worked.
