oh wait ;)
Batman Vs Superman: T H E D A R K N E S S W I T H I N.
"The Boy Scout and The Detective" maybe?
A see your Batman and Superman and raise you a Holmes and Watson. ;)
Yeah, but it maybe sounds a bit like a children's animated film. 'The Detective' could be a good title for a stand alone Batman film.
That picture gives me an idea: 'Man of Steel: Like Hand and Glove'. Sounds a bit like a comedy film though.
First they have to show of Superman to re-establish him in some way, then they have to establish a new Batman, and their relationship to each other, and perhaps put in one or two villains and on top of that we're perhaps going to see Wonder Women and Nightwing!
And if Man Of Steel is anything to go after then i have my reservations on how they're going to succed with all of that.
This is why they should've done a Batman film with Affleck first. That way, both Cavill's Superman and Affleck's Batman get their own standalone films, and then they meet in this one.
It's obvious how DC want's to pick up on the Superhero-mania that is currently going. That is sad because the end result may be very lacking of quality. And i'm afraid that if that's the case, then Affleck will be getting a lot's of heat..
Yes, i agree with you on that. It will be pretty awesome to see, but i'm still afraid that the film will be no good.
But hopefully, i can be convinced otherwise. And either way, i'm going to watch it on the premiere!
If Snyder can put in the part of him whom which made "Watchmen" then can the upcoming film be good. But Snyder as of Man Of Steel isn't the fitting director IMO.
The film is certainly not "gritty" as per se. But it tries to lean towards that direction but it get's lost in all the CGI.
I don't feel entirely confident about this film either. I do think that they should have done a stand alone Bat film with Affleck first. They don't need to establish his background history again though. Everyone already knows about this. His, parents being killed and how he became Batman I'm talking about. Nolan did it wonderfully, so why do it yet again? What's the story in the comics in terms of how Bruce became Batman? Did he order all these bits of the suit from companies abroad? How did it all come about? Where did the Bat car come from? Did they explain this in the comics?
I'm not a great fan of MOS either. I wish MOS had have been done chronologically without all the flashbacks. It had too much action too and especially at the end, coupled with an abundance of CGI.
What did Simon Pegg say about MOS? I read something about him saying that the news staff wanted to go and see the Dodgers game at the end when the city had just been flattened. I don't even remember them saying this in the film but that's kind of weird.
He was slagging off Transformers and MOS is apparently in the same vein so that came up as well, and this is what he had to say.
"Was Man Of Steel a metaphor for 9/11? No, it was just buildings falling down"
"That was one of the things that blew me away about 'Man of Steel,' that at the end, they're all at the Daily Planet office just going, "Hey! Let's go see the Dodgers!" Isn't everyone dead? Isn't New York flat? What do you mean, go see the Dodgers?!"
He's absolutely right. The last 40 minutes feels like Michael Bay has hijacked the film.
No, there was some brilliant power and emotion near the end of the film and some great characterization going on , something Bay's work is devoid of. Plus, I didn't spot any shameless arse or chest shots in the finale of MoS.
I feel pretty much the same but I don't think I'd say it was a big disappointment, but a definite disappointment.
They should show more of Clark's childhood and teen years in the next film to make up for the lack of it in MOS.
I was mainly speaking of most reboots as a whole, but for MoS it just ticked the boxes of every typical summer Blockbuster. Recognizable icon? Check. Lightly touched on Backstory? Check. Explosions? CHECK CHECK CHECK.
'The Superman With The Golden Batman Mobile' :-)
This sums up MoS beautifully.
