If you want help you have to be substantially more detailed. Do you want a realistic plot in the story?, what characters do you want involved?, to what end is MI6 involved? Accuracy with the British government is important. What settings do you want in the plot? What problems will Bond have on the way? Will it be a short or long script? What types of Bond girls do you want? Stuff like that.

^^^ Have to agree you need a scheme a girl and the way you want bond to be played you don't have to have a complete plot, just a feeling of character and don't be afraid to delete stuff and most importantly DON'T USE EON STUFF!
  • @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 mi6 are not that involved just at the start where bond gets his information, i was thinking for putting bond in a casino thats where he meets the bad guy and the bond girl and the girl should be like a spy undercover, im going for a pierce brosnan james bond type, i have the name for the film its "Darkest Shot" im looking at gadgets to put in it so Q is in it ill put up pics of the actors that will be playing the parts and im looking at 20 mins long plzs help me

Great stuff. I write scripts myself, see if you can get hold of final draft 7, great piece of software, you can make it automatically set the script in the right format i.e. Film, tv serial etc.

Start on your three main protragonists and decide their start, their middle and their end. Motives, back story etc. The plot will then be easier to interweive those roles as you go through.

I know it's only 20 mins but that's a great place to start.

Final word, avoid cliche, know how your characters talk and fill it with your personality too.. I onviously don't know who you are but try and write about what you know, do some research and that way it can't be contrived.

All the best mate. It's a hoot when it comes together! To quote Klebb; " a real..labour of love, as we say..". :-)

    sounds like a good idea.

theres a free script writing software called CeltX, it's very good. It's what we use at my school (i'm in the film division at my school)
  • im looking for ideas for the script not software

Well, we can't give you ideas. You have to come up with those on your own. Though I will say this: writers like to use the "What-If?" scenario. When Australian author Matthew Reilly wrote ICE STATION, he said he asked himself "What would happen if an alien spacecraft crashed on earth?" The answer was that the government of whatever country it landed in would seize it and nothing would ever be heard of it again. So Reilly revised the question to be "What if an alien spacecraft crashed in Antarctica, the only place on earth where there are no territorial boundaies?". And thus, the story was born: an alien spacecraft was discovered in Antarctica, and the nations of the world started sending special forces units to the remote ice station that found it in order to secure alien technology for themselves.

That's the best I can do for you. I'm nto going to tell you what or how to write, because then it wouldn't be your story.

It's been done too much and too well before. I'd advise getting script readers loving a character and then slowly and painfully kill them off, or go for the 'did that just happen?!' fast death leaving Bond scrambling to make sense of it.

maybe you're right. the sudden death of the best character would work wonders too.

@Virage, how would you kill Bond? He is absolutely invincible. He'd die of lung cancer at 75-80 if you're thinking of Fleming's model.
  • I'm doing something similar, except that in my case I'm writing a Bond story. Its set in September 1956 (according to the Bond Chronology by George Almond this was a quiet period in Bond's life). My only problem is I am having trouble coming up with that extra twist in the end. I'm not looking to write a story that's overly complicated, but rather one that's in the Fleming vein. Thus, when Bond starts out on his mission to solve one problem, he encounters a larger one that must be foiled a la Goldfinger, OHMSS, Moonraker and several others.

I wouldn't want to give ideas to anyone writing stories or screenplays. These are your plots, and even the slightest help from outside forces would take a portion of the credit away from you. If you want a twist, get it yourself. I mean that with the least bit of rudness @Hank_Scorpio. One's own creativity is the window to one's own success.

James Bond never dies. Shoot him in the chest with a nuclear missile, he'll stay alive and well and standing steel, but there won't be even a trace of your body, not even a dust.

I'm sure you'd like to think that @JamesBond snicker snicker.

Why do people always complain about Mathis dying in QoS then proceed to serve him up as the best choice to die?! Seriously, such a great character gets tramped on. I made the mistake of making him appear in the 'Bond script' thread and the first post after, Mathis was killed, ruining future places for him in the story. Come on people! He's such a great character, and yet he always gets set up to die in fan creations.

    QOS wasn't a fan creation.

I was alluding to the 'Bond script thread' that has gone downhill and that I am ready to sabotage for good, and this fan film script in which you yourself @Jinx suggested to kill Mathis!!!
this thread and that thread are completely unrelated. Mathis is already dead. he died in WOS. anything else?

Mathis is not dead overall, for Bond's sake. Just in QoS, not WoS by the way. I was making no effort to compare these two threads, I just said both were throwing around the idea of killing Mathis, one succeeding in it. ANYTHING ELSE??
