Lazenby-"He had a lot of guts."
Moore-"Take a giant leap for Mankind."
Dalton-"I hope you don t snore, Q."
Brosnan-"Bond...James Bond."
Craig-"I won t consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood."
Lazenby : "This never happened to the other fellow"
Moore : "Keeping the British end up, Sir" (TSWLM)
Dalton : "Salt corrosion" (TLD)
Brosnan : "One... last... screw" (TWINE)
Craig : "That last hand nearly killed me..." (CR)
and many more, but those are the ones I thought about almost straight away.
Lazenby: "He had a lot of guts"
Moore: "Just keeping the British end up sir"
Dalton: "I hope you don't snore Q"
Brosnan: "They'll print anything these days"
Craig: "Now the whole worlds gonna know that you died scratching my balls"
It was tough choosing just one for Connery, Moore, Brosnan and Craig (Lazenby and Dalton didn't have many good ones so they were pretty easy) but these were the ones that first popped into my head.
Lazenby: '' He had lots of guts ''
Moore: '' Keeping the british end up sir ''
Dalton: '' He got the boot ''
Brosnan: '' Theyll print anything these days ''
Craig....... :-w
Lazenby: "Sorry ma'am" (OHMSS)
Moore: "Goodnight, sir" (TMWTGG)
Dalton: "I guess it's, uh, a farewell to arms" (LTK)
Brosnan: "Saved by the bell" (DAD)
Craig: "I always hated this place" (SF)
You didn't see that line coming a mile off though? Probably the laziest one liner of all time.
It's just so cheesy I can't not like it
That just about sums up the writing during that era. Lazy writing which led to some truly terrible puns.
Regardless as to whether people hate Moore or not, he had some absolute zingers written for him.
"Just a slight stiffness coming on..." -James Bond
"That's detente, comrade." -James Bond
"Kara, we're inside a Russian airbase in the middle of Afghanistan." -James Bond
"I gave him the limp." -James Bond
"If you had just been born wouldn't you be naked?" -James Bond
Not necessarily the classic idea of hilarious 'one-liners' but more 'snarky comments'.
Lazenby: "He's branched off"
Moore: "Thank God for hard currency"
Dalton: "I'm sure you and El Presidente will make a perfect couple"
Brosnan: "See you back at the lodge"
Craig: "Put it all on red"
I'm sure I'll think of others later but those are just off the top of my head.
Connery: "Shocking... positively shocking."
Lazenby: "This never happened to the other fella."
Moore: "Ah, Ms. Anders, I didn't recognize you with your clothes on."
Dalton: "Then I guess it's a... a farewell to arms."
Brosnan: "Beg your pardon... forgot to knock!"
Craig: "They'll be too bloody late!"
How about one-liner opportunities that were not taken, which created an even better effect? For example, when Bond shoots Gettler in the patched eye with a nail gun in Casino Royale, a more comedic Bond might have said something like, "Nailed it!" But just the way he pulls the nail out of his back and keeps going is great! Anyway, just a thought :)
Lazenby - "This never happened to the other fella"
Moore - "Well I'm almost tempted to say yes immediately" (MR)
Dalton - "We've nothing to declare" (LD)
Brosnan - "I gave him the limp" (GE)
Craig - "Waste of good whiskey" (SF)
Lazenby - "Just a slight stiffness coming on... in the shoulder."
Moore - "I'll buy you an ice cream."
Dalton - "He got the boot."
Brosnan - "So that's what I've been doing wrong all these years."
Craig - "Skewered. One sympathises."
