Okay, so the short stories that haven't been used so far are:
- 007 in New York
- Risico
- Property of a Lady
- The Hildebrand Rarity
'007 in New York' is automatically tossed out for what I believe to an obvious reason: it is a terrible title for a film.
I also just don't see 'The Hildebrand Rarity' being used either; for those of you who read the short story, you'll know that the Hildebrand Rarity as being a rare fish...and while filmmakers can (of course) change the meaning, I'm not sure where they'd go. But hey, who knows.
Then there is 'Property of a Lady'; when Rachel Weisz's name was being tossed about as a villain I was convinced that POAL would be chosen, but now that her name is out the window and in addition to Bardem and Fiennes being hinted at villains, I feel that Property of a Lady would be an irrelevant title...that is unless EON does in fact go with a female main villain. Personally, I think Property of a Lady is a fine title.
Finally, there is Risico. I do admittedly like the sound of it; although people's reactions to it may be similar to QOS. I'm sure many people's would immediately, "What the hell is a Risico?" (And you can tell them it means "a risk involving danger"). Although, does anyone know what language that is?
Based on the translation (which is spot on for a Bond film), my vote would be for 'Risico'. It has a ring to it, and could easily be said by a character in the native language it's meant to be spoken in. (Bardem?)
Final answer.
Stairway to Insanity
But your connections b/w Bardem and Risico are hopefully spot on, I love the actor and the title.
Heres hoping

And yeah, the connection with Bardem and 'Risico' for sure seems like a legitimate possibility. My personal title? Oh how about...
Seven Seconds to Kill
Has a ring to it, I guess. ;-) You could even do '007 Seconds to Kill'! What a marketing dream! I've had that one up my sleeve for awhile...but I've also always thought it sounded a bit like 'A View to a Kill'...
'Risico' carries a bit of baggage with the original meaning ('risk'). Personally, I'd pronounce it 'Ri-seeko' and leave it as an enigamtic Flemnig word along the lines of 'Octopussy' - it could be a name of anyone or anything.
Must say, with talk of 'classic' Bond and DC saying he'll be well 'suave' this time out , the signs of a grand epic Bond adventure continue to increase. Very excited....

Inner Reflection
IN DELIBERATE DISGUISES
It comes from the second stanza of the poem: The poem is mostly concerned with Europe in the aftermath of World War I; this particular part invokes the sense of a battlefield when the war is over.
The reason why I like "In Deliberate Disguises" as a title is because of the wordplay involved. "In Deliberate Disguises" suggests a very conscious choice to disguise oneself. "Deliberate" means something that is carefully considered and done on purpose; it speaks to intention. But, on the other hand, "indeliberate" is the exact opposite - not unintnetional, but certainly something done without forethought. So, IN DELIBERATE DISGUISES could also be read as INDELIBERATE DISGUISES, and therefore mean both. It also has that questioning sense about it, promting audiences to ask who is in disguise and why are they doing it deliberately?
for some reason even though this is an agatha cristie it has a chilling feel that might suit 007
The property of a lady keeps getting a mention, but this was used in Octopussy in the auction book, so I find it unlikely.
There are plenty of good Fleming chapter titles out there from the books, but there are also some very bad one's like The Undertakers Wind, Midnight Among The Worms and Death of a Pelican from Live And Let Die. :-))
wonderwall (use the oasis song)
double or nothing (use "killer" by the hoosiers, i think that would work well)
risico/property of a lady (get joss stone or lady gaga or susan boyle or somebody to do a classic style bond song since it'll be the anniversary, why not bring back shirley bassey)
brokenclaw (a non flemming bond book, base it loosley on the book or just keep the villian "brokenclaw lee" and give it a whole new story. lee is chinese so give the theme a mystical feel maybe showing lots of dragons in the opening)
by royal command (got this title of one of the young bond books, and iv run out of theme ideas)
From Chris Cornell's You Know My Name for Casino Royale.
Its a good title :)
However, The World is not Enough was Bonds family moto in OHMSS and used as a title, so just because it's been seen before might not mean it is not used.
I personally think Bond 23 will be Risico seen as we are using the more oddly titled Fleming short stories.
Death waits for no man
Death waits for no spy
Brand of evil
Crimson deliverance
Man alone
Crimson vice
I dunno just a few ideas.
