Young Bond author Charlie Higson will be a guest on "Shooting Stars" on BBC 2 on Monday night.

    Show: "Shooting Stars"
    Channel: BBC 2 (UK)
    Date: Monday 12th September 2011
    Time: 22:00

Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer host the comedy panel show with team captains Jack Dee and Ulrika Jonsson. Jack is joined by glamorous actress Tamzin Outhwaite and Stone Roses' legendary bassist Mani. Ulrika is joined by stand-up comic Micky Flanagan and comedy actor turned author Charlie Higson.

Angelos Epithemiou keeps an eye on proceedings and gives out the scores to each team as well as performing a very special rap at the start of the show. During the end game, Tamzin comes face to face with a very special beast, which was specially bred for the show.

I suppose we'll have to wait longer for the second Young Bond series now that Higson is writing the fourth book in his zombie trilogy.

It seems Monday and Tuesdays mean Bond on ITV2:

    "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997)
    ITV2 - UK
    Tuesday 27th September 2011
    21:00 - 23:35

    Don't forget GoldenEye again tonight!
  • What happened to ITV1 HD showing the Bond films in sequence?

It was good to see them in HD for the first time :) amazing how much extra you can see!

Yet it stopped 2 weeks ago after YOLT, I was looking forward to OHMSS, my favourite Bond film for the first time in HD, yet not broadcast?! :(

Has it not been converted into HD yet? Or was it just because the Rugby started?

P.S. The quality has to be the best I have seen of older films converted into HD. They must have used the original film reels which were probably in very high quality for the big screen. It certainly isn't just 'upscaled' like you get on some tv programmes. :)

P.P.S is there an ultimate blu-ray collection out yet?

When Lowry did the ultimate editions all the films were scanned in at 2k resoultion (which is actually higher than HD) and then the majority of them were digitally remastered, so the film was cleaned up to look super new.

Not all are out on blu ray, but there are HD versions of all of the films.

(Definitely due to the world cup)

    Movie: Diamonds are forever
    Date:Saturday
    Time: 11:15pm- 1:40am

  • Alerts are all very well but when I want to see a Bond I grab one from my collection and put it on, Simples

That way we don't have commercial breaks every five minutes (which never fails to piss me off) or some scenes cut out particularly if they are more PG-13 area and shown before the watershed

They had License to Kill on at 3pm one Sunday afternoon some time back and I swear about a third of the film was missing, (admittedly I was watching some of it)

@Baltimore_007 even though almost all of us own every film on at least 2 different formats, there is still a weird communal thing of watching a Bond film on TV - knowing that other fans are tuned in at the exact same time. Hard to describe, but the effect exists.
