I really don't care what you give or don't give a shit about. As far as I'm concerned the facial cgi used in SF for Craig's face was unnecessary and other ways to convey the same effect if not better for the scenes could have been used. You're making it sound like I have a problem with CGI in these films altogether which is far from the truth. Unlike some people I wasn't bothered by the CG helicopters or the Komodo dragons or Silva's face. Referencing DAD's dodgy CG is pointless and isn't the issue. Hell, the shanghai fight only loses points because such use of CG was a waste, it wasn't needed. Have the 2 stuntmen just duke it out and use Craig when and as needed. The facial CG for the bike rooftop chase was just laughable and not in a good way, again they should have just kept the camera back so we can see it from afar instead of ruining an otherwise enjoyable scene. Am I nitpicking? Maybe but so what? When we get scenes where the series has a car do an insane flip stunt over 40 years ago in which many people have tried to recreate and failed miserably, my expectations of standards are such that at least the series knows how to either use CGI properly, particularly for their milestone movie it go back to basics and use innovative camera dexterity and stuntmen.
P.s. This is not a rant.
We could probably pick several movies to death not just SF.
Both scenes received more praises from critics than FXgripes.
But agreed if you are going to have such a high standard in production design ..ie the authentic looking documents on a desk that no one can see but the actors then why let or have a lower CGI standard.
And the theme song will be "Do You Know How Christmas Trees Are Grown"?
There was never a November start. When they delayed it, they talked of 2 months. So, we don't know, if it was 1st October, which might have now made it less then 2 months.
Very true, just that we all know that a Bond film is a very long shoot for a movie. Then you obviously have all the post production to go through.
This Austrian town looks very beautiful. A great location for a Bond film. Looks just as beautiful as Sweden so that's okay. Although, we have seen very little, if any, Scandinavian architecture in a Bond flick.
I hope that we'll see Craig's Bond on skis. Not a snowboard!
Another thing I would like to see is Craig's Bond in his Royal Navy uniform. It's a pity that we never saw Dalton in the duds.
What hinders my excitement for this film is that it's supposedly going to be more light hearted and humourous. With Craig's Bond it shouldn't be any more funny than Casino Royale (this film had plenty of humour!) and it should also have a similar style of humour to this film without the cheesy, lame one liners which we got in Skyfall, which Craig just doesn't do that well. I fear it will though which will certainly hinder my enjoyment of the film.
Hm - you will say, its because I am that crazy Craig nut, but I think, he does one liners particularly well, because his timing is top notch. I also didn't think, they overdid the one liners in SF. Plus the current remarks from Mendes regarding Bonds further character development didn't imply a huge shift in humour. Not to me anyway.

I thought that the "do hope that wasn't for me" line was a fair bit worse.
I just wish that they'd leave out the one liners altogether except if they decide to centre the films around comedy again like in the Moore era and later Connery movies. I didn't like how they had one liners in the first two Connery films and the Dalton entries either. They didn't really harmonise with the rest of the film, although Connery did manage to deliver them so damn naturally that they almost fit snugly into the film.
I actually liked that. Same with "Open. The doooor!".
I admit, I didn't like the "circle of life" quip, however. I hated the Komodo dragon scene.

I'm glad if so. Classic henchman, numerous physical encounters with Bond, physically imposing and taller than Craig. Hopefully the fisticuffs will be if the visceral standard that was setup in CR and QoS.
I don't get the hate for the Kamodo dragon scene. I'd loved it personally with a nice reference to LALD when Bond steps on the 2nd one at the end
As long as he, the main villain and girl are developed well throughout the film, this should only bring good news for nearly everyone. It's yet another sign of this film being even more Bond than the last.
But in LALD, you got the real deal.
Glad to see the return of the traditional henchman. I hope he's not another Grant clone, but I'm sure he won't be.
And not another Elvis either.
