Actress Lana Wood (who played Plenty O'Toole in the 1971 James Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever") will be the featured guest at next week's Olympia Film Festival, organizers recently announced. "We're really honored to have such Hollywood royalty in our historic venue," festival director Lisa Hurwitz said.
Wood will attend a fundraising dinner Nov. 9 and participate in a question-and-answer session before "Diamonds Are Forever" is screened at the Capitol Theater.
Wood is helping the Olympia Film Society wrap up its digital cinema campaign. OFS has raised $55,000 of a $65,000 goal, Hurwitz said.
"We're hoping that by the time the festival is over the fundraising will be complete for the projector," Hurwitz said. A crew is currently installing the new digital projector in the theater. The theater will be closed from Sunday through Nov. 7 to facilitate the film-to-digital conversion.

Press Release
In October 2014 the Kunsthal Rotterdam proudly presents the exhibition Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style. From Dr. No in 1962, starring Sean Connery, to 2012's Skyfall with Daniel Craig, Agent 007 captured the world's imagination. The screen hero has not only headlined the most successful franchise in film history, he has made an indelible impact on the worlds of art, music, fashion, technology, travel, automotive design, and lifestyle.
The Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style exhibition celebrates this world of innovation and action, style and sex appeal with an inside view of the world's favourite secret agent. More than 500 gadgets, costumes, iconic vehicles, storyboards, graphic designs and props, together with numerous film fragments, present an unequalled multimedia experience of the world of James Bond.
The exhibition has been formed with exclusive material from the archives of EON Productions on commission from the Barbican, London by guest curator Bronwyn Cosgrave, Oscar®-winning costume-designer Lindy Hemming, and designer Ab Rogers. The exhibition has been presented previously in London, Toronto, Shanghai and Melbourne and will feature as part of The UK-Russia Year of Culture in Moscow before arriving in Rotterdam.

Released in the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis, From Russia with Love reflects many of the cultural concerns of the sixties. The film is being screened as part of the nationwide ‘Cultural Memory and British Cinema-going of the 1960s’ project based at UCL, and will be introduced by film historian Dr Melvyn Stokes. The audience are invited to join an informal discussion about their memories of film-going in the sixties following the film.

The new lead Bond Girl has a new film (Diary of a Chambermaid) appearing at berlinale festival, which is also debuting
"A newly restored ultra-high definition version of #GOLDFINGER (1964) will premiere at the 65th @berlinale in February"
I've seen GF twice at digital film presentations in recent years, but unlike the other restored films, GF was in a "letterbox" format, crystal clear mind you, but not in a full widescreen format.
Maybe this version puts GF to the head of the class and gives it the full widescreen presentation, not to mention ultra-high def whatever that is.
