I see that here, too. Wasn't sure if that was supposed to be or a bug.

    Yep, all good!
    Thanks!
  • Any chance this forum could get Tapatalk support (it supports Vanilla)? Tapatalk is great and I would love if I could use it for this forum.

I just wanted to thank those responsible for the newest forum update we experienced this summer, as many of the old features we enjoyed previously have now happily returned. For those not yet aware, members can now once again edit their profiles to include information about their favorite Bond film, novel, actor and more, and well as share a location that appears alongside their name when commenting on the forum. I loved these features before the update hit, and am ecstatic to see them back. Thanks again for all those responsible for their return to the forum's software.

Seconded. Thank you to all involved in making these changes.

I wondered why people had quotes or locations next to their usernames!
    Thanks for this update!

    Great minds think alike @MayDayDiVicenzo
Nice to give a little personalisation to our profiles.
  • With many of us hoping to avoid spoilers for the upcoming Spectre, would it not be a good idea to fix it so random threads about the new film do not come up on the Discussion Page along with other new or recent threads from the forum? After all, just a title of a thread can clue us up to the direction, tone or plot of the film, esp if the mods don't get onto it right away.

Where has the "News Tidbits" thread gone? I have searched for it extensively but most links now seem to redirect to one of the SP threads which I am specifically trying to avoid.

    It's been renamed http://www.mi6community.com/index.php?p=/discussion/2530/spectre-spoilerish-news-and-discussions/p1

I don't understand that decision at all. They are completely different things!

The News Tidbits thread was frequently used for posting links to tiny news snippets that didn't merit their own thread on the forum. They could relate to ANY Bond film in any way. Look back through the thread and you'll see this.

If one now comes across a news article that relates to a previous Bond film in some small way, where is the correct place to post it now?

I´m sorry for asking such a silly question, but what is the purpose of the search function? Or, how do I have to use it? I typed in "James Bond on blu ray" (as recall there is a thread of that name), and I get every single instance of the two letters o and n in that order, like cONtroversy, ONline, and the like. But not the thread of that name. Highly irritating.
    What am I doing wrong?

Yes, the search function can be very irritating. As it has been counseled many times before, the best solution everyone has found is to simply go into Google, search "MI6 Community" and then search the name of the thread you are looking for after it to get much better results.

Here is the thread you were looking for, at any rate:

    http://www.mi6community.com/index.php?p=/discussion/1924/james-bond-on-blu-ray/p48

I used this forum's search function to see what would happen, with quotations around the title, and it was third down the list. That result does not always happen, however.

Thanks @0Brady for the advice and for finding the thread ;-)!

Does anyone else have this problem?

If I use Internet Explorer there are certain pictures that will not show here. It has been that way for a while, so I started using Google Chrome for this site, but the last couple of days there are certain segments that are unreadable as letters are missing.

Now I have to choose between viewing all pictures with G.C. or seeing all letters with I.E.

Internet Explorer is rubbish. I have no problems with Google Chrome however.

Yes, it could be something like that.

The view counter does not appear to be working on many of the threads.

    Hmm... weird.

Perhaps it only happens with the newer threads posted since the site makeover some months ago? That's my guess anyway; I may be wrong! :)

I've noticed the mess of threads we've got here revolving around fan response to Spectre, and had a request for the mods, @DarthDimi specifically. On this page of the forums each film has its own thread for fans to submit their reviews of it:

    http://www.mi6community.com/index.php?p=/categories/reviews

I was wondering if SP could have its own thread there amongst the other 23 as well now that it's been out for a month, so that those like myself who want to do proper reviews have a spot to post and share them. I've heard from some members that they remember posting their thoughts on SP shortly after its release but have since lost them in the mess of threads, so by creating one go-to spot for all SP reviews we can make it easy for everyone to post their own critiques and read those of others. Thanks. :)

Sounds like a very sensible idea there, @0BradyM0Bondfanatic7. I'll happily second that! :)
