Didn't they reveal the plot to QOS at the last press conference
Maybe because the film didn't have a plot...

Perhaps they will explain the plot of QoS this time so that we can relax aand look forward towards Bond23 that will be called ......................?

  • haha, yes the film does have a plot but you might have to actually watch the movie more than once to understand it. If anyone has any questions about the plot please feel free to ask me, and I would be glad to explain to you what you are and have been missing ;-)

Have tried to watch it more than once but everytime I find something else more interesting. I still think I have missed very little about that crapfest that was QoS. What I missed most was a decent 22nd EON 007 movie. But perhaps Bond23 will be just that.

    ;-)

Last time round we got the title, photos with the cast, the synopsis, the conference itself, interviews with the cast, (also in video form), along with the first B-Roll footage and of course lots of TV coverage from the world's media. Plus information on the characters the cast are playing.

    It'll be a fun day!

Why was last time a separate "press conference" and interviews with the cast? Why was Judi Dench the only actor who appeared at the press conference if all the other main actors where there as well that day?

Who knows, maybe EON now like the keep the numbers small for the Q & A. Really, the only must haves are Broccoli, Wilson and Mendes. Craig may join them this time as it's been almost four years and hasn't done one since Casino Royale. Hell, the whole cast may even be there - just look at the over the top one for Die Another Day.

Interviews are always done afterwards anyway, so if possible we'll just get more insight from the other cast members?

Not that it really matters but with QOS they did the interviews before the conference. :) During the conference a journalist was referring to something that Almaric said during an interview the same day.

  • The traditional press conference that marks the kick-off of principal photography on the next James Bond film will be held at Pinewood Studios next month.

As usual, Daniel Craig, director Sam Mendes and producers will meet the world's press at the famous film studios to unveil the start of Bond 23 production.

Contrary to media rumours, filming has not already started on Bond 23. It is not scheduled to start until November, when the first scenes will be captured on sound stages at Pinewood, before the production travels to shoot on location.

Filming will continue through June 2012.
Quick question: What's the source of this? These exact words have been cut and pasted into other Bond fan sites. But there's no attribution. There's also one (arguably) minor glitch: "As usual, Daniel Craig, director Sam Mendes and producers..."

This is Mendes's first Bond film. Therefore, it can't be usual. The Bond producers usually have a press conference around the time that principal photography starts. But this is the first tiem for Mendes, so therefore it can't be usual.

Is that being picky? Sure. But given how these very words are being circulated over the Internet, it's reasonable to ask if this is the actual text of an Eon Productions press release, or come from somewhere else.

The 'as usual' is refering to the director of the film always being in attendance, this time it's Mendes.

This news is from MI6-HQ who you can always trust, if this is from EON it would have said so. People can choice not to believe it if they want to, it's up to them.

Considering where we are - ie the eve of filming, and Eon's history for major pre:filiming press conferences it would be safe to assume that sometime early in November would be the likely time for this event regardless of official confirmation.

imdb of course. :-ss tbh it has to be sooner rather than later, so early November is a good call. In fact if I had to put money on it I would have gone for late October B-)

No one knows when filming begins though that's the problem. It could even be the 30th.

It'll be just before or after filming but when that date is remains the big question.

....so what usually happens at these press conferences...do they finally tell everyone what the name of the new Bond picture is or who will be the new Bond girl....

Well, we don't know for sure what they have planned. Technically, it's a conference to annouce the start of filming - they don't have to tell us anything until the film is released. Last time around, they annouced the title and the cast and they gave a brief plot rundown, but I'd be surprised if we get that this tim because Sam Mendes wants absolute secrecy surrounding the project.

Only started following MI6 from DAD onwards, but very recently joined the forum. I do take a look at CBn,but to be blunt I find it a bit sniffy. More down to earth here and people are likeminded. Can't wait for production to start with pics and news coming through on a regular basis. Cheers to MI6,the real deal.

Look at one of my past posts on this page. I've linked everything we got last time there. It was quite a lot.

    For either?

I must say, six to seven months for filming is a long time. Mendes and co. should have all the time they need to capture a fantastic film for Bond's big 5-0.
This is a long time for any professional actor to be committed to one project. No wonder Sean grew weary and Roger complained loudly about the time commitment. But I guess they need all this time to "get it right".

Six months has been the standard for Bond for many, many years now, as are similar times for other big blockbusters so it's not really time needed to "get it right" more so to just complete the film.

    Press conference next week?

From the twitter page of Lizo Mzimba, Entertainment Correspondent for BBC News:

"Ooh, big James Bond launch event next week. With cast etc. I guess they'll probably reveal title too. Think I can find the time!"

Next week is next month - they can hold the event on Tuesday, and still be in November as promised.

I took 'next month' as 4 weeks, so it will have been 4 weeks come next week. Can easily see this happening.
