The Bourne films aren't British films.
  • Well if it were my top list, i'd definately have these on there somewhere;
    - Gladiator, Casino Royale, Super 8, and Inception.

    And probably somewhere in the lower lot would be;
-- Harry Potter 7 part 2, Source Code, Minority Report, Kick Ass, Shaun of the Dead, Mission: Impossible III, and The Bourne Ultimatum

Random list of suggestions for A top 20, but I cant order them exactly.
Based off of storyline, acting, and entertainment values (as well as cultural influences) :

    Inglorious Basterds
    The Dark Knight
    Casino Royale
    Behind Enemy Lines
    Kill Bill (1&2)
    Star Trek
    Super 8
    No Country For Old Men
    Juno*
    Inception

    -Damn this is hard-

    I keep thinking of
    Mission Impossible ('98)
    Heat ('95)
    Desperado ('95)
    From Dusk Til Dawn ('96)

I wish we still had the 90's era of film creativity.
Oh, and you can tell I'm a Tarantino fan :P

*I'm a straight male teenager, and I love this film. The humor is killer, and its always a good time.

Yeah, I love it @forgotmyusername. I suggest "K-19 The Widowmaker" from the same director, with Taken Neeson and Indy Ford. Very good film. Also go watch 'Lord of War' - stellar film.

Lord of War - seen it and how could i not have it in? Nic Cage up and down, he's give you good and then the next film he gives you total DAD. I wish he'd stop making pooh to pay off his tax bill and just live in Monaco for 6 months of the year. That would solve his little problem.

one more add - Team America:World Police so funny satirical musical and great. This clip defo NSFW but it is the best end speech to any film: edit. took it out...here's another great scene:

Believe me, the 1990's ended in 1999

    The 2000's began in 2000

I think that's how 99.9 per cent of the earths population would see it, and I'm one of 'em

Yeah and it got on my nerves back in '99 when idiots accross the planet were spending their life savings on 'the last party of the millennium' only to repeat the silliness the next year.

Look guys, I'm sorry to get all technical and completely off topic but this is how it is: 2001 was the first year of the new millennium. That's one of the reasons why Clarke and Kubrick picked it for their space odyssey.

As for one film that should make every list: Lost in translation.

To anyone who want a very low budget, but very well made, instant classic and highly original horror movie...

I suggest that any top 10's of 2000's should have 'Pontypool'. It's a canadian film... and I just love it.

I cannot put Pulp Fiction in a top 20 list without Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels... That film is just too cool for words.

Also @haserot, Munich is very good, top 10 material yes, but my fav Spielberg is Schindler's List, which cannot be outside my top 3, IMO.

My top 20 would be something like this :

    1- Schindler's List (Spielberg, 1993)
    2- Senna (Kapadia, 2010)
3- The Thin Red Line (Malick, 1998)
    4- Der Untergang (Hirschbiegel, 2004)
5- Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels (Ritchie, 1998)
6- The Full Monty (Cattaneo ,1997)
    7- Reservoir Dogs (Tarantino, 1992)
    8- Munich (Spielberg, 2005)
    9- The Mission (To, 1999)
    10- Pontypool (McDonald, 2008)
    11- Trainspotting (Boyle, 1996)
    12- Pulp Fiction (Tarantino, 1994)
13- Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (Spielberg, 1981)
14- Lord of War (Niccol, 2005)
    15- Oldboy (Chan-wook Park, 2003)
16- The Social Network (Fincher, 2010)
    17- Vitus (M. Murer, 2006)
    18- Taxi Driver (Scorsese, 1976)

    @DaltonCraig

oh, that is just my top 20 over the past 20 years... if i had to organize my top 20 of all time? - it would look drastically different...

but i can only fairly rate the movies I have seen - sadly, Schindler's List always seems to elude me... it's one I've been meaning to see, but can never get around to it.
