...and the executives at MGM are exactly the ones who want to team up with another company (instead of Sony) for Bond 25...

Personally I am hoping for WB to team up with MGM but that is just my hope

I have been thinking about the screen times of various actors in Spectre. Is it safe to say that Bautista will have more screentime than Waltz? Bautista's role is pretty large, considering he is playing a henchman...

It's comparable to TSWLM. Jaws and Stromberg.

I have a super off topic question that has most likely been answered...
I have been away for awhile though!
How much of the leaked script has been re-written?
Is it completely different or is it still kind of the same?

The leaked December script matches what we are seeing from the clapperboards, so far.
  • I just re-read the script and I absolutely love it. I really hope in the rewrites that are being done, that they haven't touched the final scene in Q's workshop. At least on paper, it's my favorite Bond ending.
  • I think Spectre will be the 4th best Bond of all time. Best of the Craig's. I would love to read The latest script but from what I have heard and your thoughts battleship grey it's not beyond them.

@Vandelayindustries from what you've read, which 3 Bond films would you tentatively rank higher?
  • Ok this is going to seem too obvious but -Dr No, FRWL & Goldfinger.
  • For me Dr No & FRWL are pure perfection and stand up as great films, not just great Bond films. Although for me Dalton was the best portrayal of Bond and Lazenby had the correct physique.
  • It's really exciting, because I think this is the Bond film we've all been anticipating since Casino Royale. At the end of CR I figured he'd learned his lessons and that the next time around we'd be getting the classic Bond we all new and loved with a bit of the new found edge, but then in QoS it was really just a continuation of Casino Royale and the arc wasn't totally complete, and then in Skyfall it seemed like we'd fast forwarded past Bond's prime and have to watch him redeem himself again, but in the December draft of Spectre I was really encouraged to see that Mendes is finally going to be able to throw in all the ingredients that made us fall in love with the series, but in a way that is fresh and new while still keeping it classic. Even the dynamic between Bond and Moneypenny is going in a different route than the flirtation routine but it is handled in a way that while she is an important character in Bond's life, it doesn't feel like we're being force fed her character like some were worried about when the whole "Field Agent Moneypenny" thing was revealed.

The ONLY criticism I have is that there just isn't enough Waltz/Oberhauser in it and I think those who were disappointed with the point at which Bardem made his appearance in Skyfall are likely to be disappointed again. All in all though, This really has the potential to be the best best Bond ever. I know that gets thrown around a lot, but I honestly believe that this could be the modern Bond era's Goldfinger. We've got all the Mi6 team (Q, Moneypenny, M, Tanner). The cars, the gadgets, and the humor (this script is actualy very funny), while keeping the emotional resonance that was established in Casino Royale. All of Craig's efforts have fallen on various ends of that spectrum but it seems as though they've really found the sweet spot with this one, and that there will be a little something for everyone.

Didn't Wiseman as Dr.No have less screen time than Bardem? If so, I think as long as Waltz is able to convey an impressionable and impacting performance fans shouldn't have much to worry about.
  • @battleshipgreygt, you have got me so friggen pumped! It appears the balance is just right, with all the necessary ingredients. I think an actress like Monica Bellucci could have something to do with that also. Can you tell me roughly how long you expect her to be in the movie?

As much Id love to see CW as Blofeld as time goes by the more I think that ESB will be someone else albeit a small cameo at the end. Either way I reckon Eon have palyed a blinder in teasing everyone with this. Its weird though that the name of the German actor playing the Spectre agent pursuing Q in the cable car is an anagram of Blofeld. Uncanny. Surely EON wouldn't have cast him on that basis alone to add another red herring to the equation?

Personally I think they should have used the leaking of the script to their advantage and part of me thinks they might still have a curve ball they are going to throw and the ESB element is one area they have an opportunity to surprise the hell out of us.

That being said I still think it might be Waltz, which I won't mind as long as it's done with some intelligence, I'm hoping the childhood angle is played too heavy, I accepted it in Skyfall and bought into it despite its similarities to Nolan's Batman but Mendes and team needs to strike out on their own.

We are talking Bond's most notorious adversary who has never been done properly on the screen, seriously EON in the words of Gareth Mallory, "don't cock it up"
  • @Vandelayindustries It doesn't look like she'll have a ton of screentime but her role is pretty important. Maybe something along the lines of Solange but probably a little bit more.

Sony presenting at CinemaCon on April 22.

    http://cinemacon.com/schedule/2015-events/#horizontalTab6

According to the leaks, expect 7 minutes of footage to be shown. Which backs up marketto's info re: trailer landing late March/with Furious 7...

    Hi everybody,

I was wondering one thing, and would like to hear some opinions.

Do you think that they will film the finale of the film on the Thames and Westminster Bridge and the other locations along the Thames for the finale or do you think they will be filming it all at Pinewood - green screen?

Also, if they film on location when will the filming happen? They don't have much time.
They have Mexico in mid March to beginning of April and then they have a lot of more scenes to film at Pinewood and then Morocco, does filming continue after Morocco in June?

Looking forward to hearing your opinions

I think they'll have a mixture of real location and SFX. They'll have to close off the bridge for short periods, but it won't be the first film production to do so.

In relation to dates, I have no idea - @Gustav_Graves seems to be keeping track of locations and dates...

I think that the scenes of Bond and Swann on the RIB boat on the Thames will be shot on location. Like the scenes of Bond and Tanner (but a less relaxed pace of course!)

I am hoping that they will film on Westminster Bridge because I would really like to see this being filmed. Hopefully, we will know the filming dates nearer the time. There will be lots of video footage and photos posted like the Rome shooting. It is great that there are Bond fans everywhere keeping us all updated on the shoot.

I wonder if we will get much fan coverage in Morocco as the location seems to be more remote? I hope so and that we finally get an on set photo of Christoph Waltz in character.
  • I was in that particular part or Morocco a few years back and I can tell you right now there isn't a lot around. Having said that there might be a few photographers disguised as camels getting around in June.
