Does anyone know when they're filming the scene where Bond
Goes to Q's room and calls him a "qt"?

I just realized something. SPECTRE takes place in the present and not shortly after Skyfall as some have thought. In the Bond Empire magazine issue, it talks about a scene in which
there is a notepad on Swann's desk with the date written as 4/25/2015.

Hmm that is interesting. With the old Vauxhall Mi6 building still in ruins after such a long period has Westminster decided not to rebuild it in case Mi6 is dissolved? Or perhaps it has been left there as some sort of symbol to the audience and Britain's enemies; the message being that Mi6 is operating once again within the shadows.

Its all very quiet on the news front?!!! :-S

we have had several people confirm that SPECTRE will be the best bond film since the sixties, I think we can show a little patience ;)

So who are the several people confirming this? I want them to pick stocks for me.

How can a film be the "best" when it is still shooting, had a very difficult script process, and is only very partly edited, in short completely unfinished.

Re the good script/bad script posts, I think a good director and editor will often make a good film out of a good script. A poor script, however, usually results in a poor movie, but sometimes a very talented and smart director and editor can make a very good film out of a poor script by reworking it as they shoot and edit.

Yet Lucas created something indelible from it because there was a vision there. All I'm saying is, with all due respect, fans reading a leaked script and declaring it brilliant means sweet fuck all.

And well, there's also those who read it and declared it not that brilliant...
As far as I'm concerned, I can see the big patch on it caused by, I imagine, the reason why they called P&W back.

Bad scripts don't make good movies. But there are exceptions. The script of Laura was considereed as a B-movie script at the time and look at what Otto Preminger did with it.

Yeah, it's way too early to start making declarations. I think some people underestimate the power of the editor. The editing room is the court room where in lies the judue, jury and executioner.
  • And the power of music too... It can make or break an action scene, IMO. And I think a "silent" action scene in a Bond movie is a big no these days (now this would be a risk I would be interested to see, even more if it has gadgets : if you don't have the music to spell out it's not really serious, how can you handle that...)

Here is a more accurate photo of the model Hinx will be using in SPECTRE

and here is a custom shoulder holster Arsenal Firearms supplied to the production team for Hinx to wear. I'm curious if they'll use it.

I don't know anything about guns, but I'm guessing a gun like that

    Bond. :D

    the fight in the helicopter

You raise an interesting point. Music, especially in a Bond film is critical. However, knowing when not to use music is also important. This mainly applies to fisticuff beatdowns. The fight with Bond and Grant in FRWL, Bond and Alec in GE, Bond and Slate in QoS are good example, as well as some of the fights in the Bourne movies and of course when Bane complete destroyed batman in TDKR. I cant wait to see the physical confrontations between Bond and Hinx. I'm hoping for at least confrontation to be absent of music and truly visceral and brutal. On the flipside, the shootout at the Opera in QoS was perfect use of music in action scene.

Ah, the good old 007 theme! I have sure missed that in the modern films!

This would fall in somewhere in between London city hall (scene 71) and Hoffler Klinik (scene 80)

Here's an interview in French of Marc Zinga (Spectre discussion - timer: 415-625) for "La premiere/RTBF" (Belgian public radio): http://www.rtbf.be/radio/podcast/player?id=2011966

He couldn't say a lot of things but he explained that his cast was done in Paris. Due to the script, Sam Mendes needed to meet "French speaker" actors (probably related to Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann).

Looks like it tags on to the Tanner/Bond Camden shots.
