Welcome to all new members, I hope you all have plenty of fun here.

@DrGorner I have no idea what happened but please don't go, you seem like a reasonable, fun, nice guy, it would be a shame for you to leave.

Time for a grovelling apology, sadly I must have been having a bad morning, and
Allowed my inner petulant, adolescent schoolgirl to come to the fore. Hence why
I threw all my toys out of the pram. Now after a cup of camomile tea and a rest in
a darkened room. I'm hopefully back to normal.
It is odd ( you'd think I'd have a thicker skin) how things of irrelevance if said in
A bar or at work, somehow when written take on a bigger significance, I guess I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder.
So I'm adopting Plan B " Stay out of the election thread". I'd like to point out that I'm not usually a nut job, and once again apologies for my childish outburst, I think my
Own embarrassment may be my punishment. :\"> and Welcome to all new members. :)

No need to apologize @DrGorner, that's all part of being human. Which is why I converted to an alien long ago. It's not easy being green, but it's a far more pleasant lifestyle. >-) ;)

A very warm welcome to the forums, albeit a late one. Any friend of 1990's Seagal is a friend of mine!

Hello. I'm new here. Author and a James Bond fan for more years than I would like to admit to.

I've written a spy spoof story which will be free on kindle in the next couple of days. Would the Mods mind if I tell people about it? I don't want to break any forum rules or anything like that.

You are not breaking any rules by doing that, @Will_Once. Unless the rules are made up from day to day. By the way, Willkommen!

we always try to suggest keeping away from threads where your political and religious opinions are likely to clash with others. It always ends badly ;-)

    Glad you chose this route

Welcome aboard @Will_Once. Please tell us more about your book! :)

Thanks for being so understanding and welcoming! Here goes...

Global Domination for Beginners is the James Bond story told from the other side. What would it feel like to be the Blofeld or the Dr Evil? What might drive someone to want to take over the world?

And once you've decided to take over the world, how exactly would you do it?

And if you do manage to achieve global domination, what would you do with all that power?

Global Domination for Beginners is a comedy about Love, friendship and assassination by frisbee bowler hat. It's a thinking person's Austin Powers.

And it's free until Monday 8 June. You can download a copy from Amazon here:

    UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Global-Domination-Beginners-Will-Once-ebook/dp/B00O4WJR04/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433484229&sr=8-1&keywords=global+domination+for+beginners

Hi @Will_Once. It's ok as long as you don't go round dropping links to your book on every thread, then we can let this by. ;-)

Well, when you are thinking up a pen name, you've just got to choose one that sounds like it could come out of a Bond film, don't you?

My name, is Once. Will Once.

Or ... I see you met my bodyguard, Mr Once. He can't speak, but he is absolutely lethal with a bowler hat at fifty paces.

Yes, a version of it, though not the original by Geoffrey Jenkins of course.

  • I saw Goldfinger when it first came out, in a movie theater, one of the DB5s that were touring with the film was parked out front. I think that's where it all started. Hello everyone, I've just signed up.
