What Bond films do you own?

edited November 2011 in Bond Movies Posts: 2,341
We all keep a video library be it VHS or DVD nowadays. Of course i have some Bond films but not all of them. I don't know why I have never wanted to purchase any of those boxed sets, I just don't. So I ask which films do you own and why that particular film?
My collection:'
GOLDFINGER A Bond Classic and should be in every affaciado's collection.
DAF I never liked this movie and it was given to my as a gift years ago. I keep it just as a tribute to Connery's last outing. Of course one can never turn down a gift but I never watch it.
OHMSS My favorite Bond film.
AVTAK Moore's swan song and I thought it would be nice to own it.
LTK One of my favorite Bond films and Dalton's last.

Since I consider myself a Bond purist, I may have to break down and buy the boxed sets but not until they finally decide to give OHMSS the full credit it is due by releasing it on Blu-Ray

Why is it taking so long for a decent QoS special edition to come out? I've got a 2 DVD set (hologram cover) with next to nothing on it. Did I miss something? Wouldn't there be like an extra hour of footage they cut from the damn film?

the scene i wanted to see, which was filmed - was supposed to be part of the ending, in which Bond confronts Guy Haines and Mr White, and kills them both (i believe)... but they opted to leave it out...

my hope is, is that with th 50th anniversary blurays likely to hit shelves sometime next year, a more expanded release of QOS is part of it...

and personally, i need a new copy of CR - for whatever reason, I can't watch the friggin' bluray without the message box for "expanded view" popping up and distracting me every 30 seconds.

Got em all and will no doubt re-purchase when they re-lease next year with hopefully brand new extras, commentaries etc. Does anyone know if Quantum of Solace is to be released in a collectors edition with commentary etc and deleted scenes? Apparently this was going to happen before the money problems hit MGM last year. I guess they'll unleash it in the run in to the release of Skyfall. Would also love to see a special edition of Never Say Never Again. Dont own this at the moment on DVD cos I dont like vanilla discs with no extras as is the case at present. I think there was Region 1 USA edition released but nothing in good old Blighty as of yet

The same, with any luck it will be out in October. I'll also pick up Casino Royale's second release at some point.

I've learnt my lesson, don't buy the first release of Bond films Sony are involved in!

I own all of the Special Editions on DVD from DN to DAD, 2-disc DVD of CR, simple DVD of QOS, all all of the Blu Rays that have been released.
  • All the ultimate DVDs (terrific sets BTW) and CR & QoS on both DVD and Blu-Ray.

Frankly, like many I suspect, I'm hanging on for 50th anniv Blu-Ray re-issues...

    All of them! :-D

All but From Russia With Love and GoldenEye on Ultimate Edition DVD (I do have FRWL and GE on Special Edition, but I'm after those Ultimate Editions as well).

Casino Royale on that 3 disc DVD collector's edition and the two disc of QOS. I'm afraid I've never owned a Blu-Ray player, and likely will not re-buy all of them again on Blu-Ray! (I've already spent enough upgrading my special editions to ultimate....)

(And Never Say Never Again...the most recent DVD release of it, I got it as a gift) ;-)

I seem to recall the Ultimate Editions butchered a couple of films with bad image quality... :-?

The way I heard it was detailed was that White killed Haines, and then Bond killed White. The QoS game had a part of it at the very end.

And I own them all on DVD, with the exception of those other two CRs. I own NSNA, and only have it to complete the collection.
  • I used to know someone years back who years before the advent of DVD and all had every Bond release on VHS and sometimes second copies and so much merchandise you wouldn't believe, I remember at the time I was quite impressed, odd thing was he wasn't an actual Bond nut so to speak, I just think he enjoyed collecting these kind of things, he had all kinds of movie paraphernalia and at time was very impressive

Myself I own nearly all the Bond movies on different formats, i.e. say License to Kill on both VHS and DVD, and so on with dozens more. I don't have Thunderball, QOS, You Only Live Twice or For Your Eyes Only though, although the latter may well be knocking around somewhere, obviously if I wanted the complete collection I would of had it by now, I just kind of pick them up as and when and then they are usually featured on TV at some point sooner or later.

I've never been inclined to buy the complete box set in one purchase

I think they have all generally looked much better than the special editions. Which were the films you thought of?

I personally disagree. I want DN to look like it was made in the 60s, not in the 90s or 2000's. ;;) I may be slightly exaggerating of course but nonetheless it is currently my strongest incentive to stick to the SE DVD's, which I owe in the famous box.

I also have CR67, NSNA, two editions of CR and two of QoS.

I've got all releases on dvd in SE & UE variations, even have NSNA and Casino Royale '67.
But NO QoS. have enough coasters due to having a wife. My favorite coasters are the Heineken TND edition.

my girlfriend forced me to get rid of the VHS player and to buy a sky box so all my videos are useless. I do own most of em on dvd though.

I own all the Connery films(naturally) and the Craig films as of yet. I am holding out for the 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray releases coming up to get all of them instead of getting just plain DVDs.
