For the record, I have not seen Monster's Ball, and still thought she was awful in DAD.
But, Sean's the man for me. Always has been and unlikely to change. And just to prove I'm not living in the past Danny boy is sitting snuggly at number 2.

I kinda feel the same way about Craig and Moore. The 10 year old kid in me says Roger Moore. But the adult says Daniel Craig.
I personally think when it's all said and done, there will be 3 greats, and then all the rest: Connery, Moore, and after many years, finally a new addition to that rarified club in Craig. If he gets a knighthood, that would seal it.
Agreed. Personally I already consider Connery, Moore, and Craig to be the "great ones". The others had their strengths the way I see it the three mentioned define Bond.
One of Craig's Bonds was the biggest british film of all time, and he parachuted with the Queen of England. Give the man his sword!
Like many I imagine, I couldn't pick a favourite. Pierce was my introduction to the franchise with Goldeneye. George gave a great, emotional performance as Bond at an important part of his development. Sean helped craft the cinematic character, and his portrayal is probably the best, but on the whole I prefer to watch Daniel's movies.
One movie just is not enough, no matter how good Craig may be in his role.
Maybe Spectre will change that.
The general public consider both Casino Royale and Skyfall to be two of the best Bond films of all time. Certainly two of the most critically acclaimed since the 60s. So far his record is damn great.
Those three definitely had the strongest legacies on the series as a whole.
Though as I've got older I've grown to dislike Sean's last 2 entries especially DAF, I just don't like his lazy performance in YOLT and he looks nothing like Bond in DAF he looks a complete disgrace and nothing like the actor who' appeared in TB, he was on the slide with YOLT but he's almost unrecognisable as 007 in his final EON entry.
Definitely a Dalton advocate but as time as gone on both his entries have not dated well for me, I think he delivered the version of the character that was needed at the time but his films for me have issues, possibly most down to a pedestrian director that didn't gel with his leading man. Also Craig's take on the character for me delivered in all the areas that Dalton lacked (for me) the suaveness, a believable lady killer and dead pan wit. Also Craig confidence in his performance and that voice is perfect, I see none of the awkwardness that Dalton displays at times in his films
An honourable mention to Lazenby, no not a great actor but the fact he's in my favourite entry of all time and one of my all time favourite films says for me he must of done something right. I'm sorry and I'm sure Pierce fans will be horrified but I'll take his inexperience over the I'm standing in a mirror with a hairdryer looking at myself thinking I'm Sean Connery version that transatlantic Bond Brosnan gave us.
Never liked his performance at all, his entries outside of DAF are for me the worst of the series and I very much doubt although I have them as part of the Bond 50 set I'll ever watch them again.
This brings us to Craig, I was a fan of him from the moment I saw him play Geordie Peacock in for me the BBC's finest ever drama OFITN. No actor who's played Bond has delivered a multi layered and extraordinary performance as that, Craig is still to top it.
Once I saw him in Layer Cake and framing that door with the gun a light bulb went on and like others including BB & MGW I said the new Bond. For me DC has delivered and some as the character, even with ltd material (QOS) he's excelled as Bond.
If you don't like the multi layered interpretation and delving into Bond's psyche then no doubt Craig will rub you up the wrong way but for me this is my favourite actor to play the role.
Now when it comes to fully fledged confident swagger and panther like grace, Connery pips everyone to the post. His take in FRWL for me is still the definitive article but Craig started to show glimpses of that confident version in Skyfall so I'm thinking that maybe with Spectre Craig might well swing it, I guess we'll see.
So Connery as Bond, his take and confidence and air but I think as far as a performance in a Bond film I'm saying Craig, a combination of the journey he takes in CR and the beaten Bond at the start of SF then the gradually emerging confident Bond.
To me the journeys he takes in both films mark him out to me as the best actor to have played the role.
