indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark
snakes, why did it have to be snakes.
Henry Jones, Sr
"We named the dog 'Indiana'."
'Oh, no, it wasn't the airplanes. It was Beauty killed the Beast.'
One of the best films ever made - and a beautiful line to end the film.
That said
In no particular order or timescale
Commando/1985 - (Schwarzenegger) - 'Let off some steam Bennett'
'I eat green berets for breakfast and right now I'm very hungry'
'I let him go'
Apocalypse Now/1979 - (Duvall) - 'I love the smell of napalm in the morning'
Midnight Express/1978 (Davis) - 'I hate you, I hate your people, I hate your nation, and I F@#% your sons and daughters because they're pigs. You're a Pig!, You're all Pigs!'
Trainspotting/1996 (McGregor) - 'Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed- interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit- crushing game shows, stuffing junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, f'd-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that?'
Dr No/1962 (Connery) - 'Bond, James Bond'
GoodFellas/1990 (Pesci) - 'The 'Am I funny' lines , no need to elaborate
"Get your stinkin' hands off me you damn dirty ape!"
And the Rise of the Planet of the Apes response to that line:
"No!"
"Nobody puts baby in a corner."
Darth Vader:
"Luke, I am your father."
Movie : Hombre 1963
Female stagecoach passenger to Richard Boone: "You take your hat off to a lady, you are g gentleman"
Richard Boone: "My Mama always told me to take off my hat to a lady. Whatever else I take off depends on how lucky I get."
"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."
"One shall stand, one shall fall."
The former is his quote according to the toy boxes (and he got to say it in the 2007 film) while the later came from 1986's Transformers: The Movie.
@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 watch this ;)
I got another line, joker in TDK: why so serious???
"I'm Batman"
-Carmine Falcone & Batman, Batman Begins
Yes, you can always count on Family Guy to be irrevocably immature on all counts. What horrid television.
Taxi Driver: "You talkin' to me?!"
I like family guy at times, but alot of the time the jokes are just pointless and don't mean anything. South park did a funny episode about it. American dad is pretty funny though, because it relies on actual jokes instead of cut-away gags like family guy.
they live- I came here to kick ass n chew bubble-gum.... n I'm all outta gum... *starts shotgunning disguised aliens*
"In space no-one can hear you scream"
Eastwood in Dirty Harry: "Make my day." Classic and everyone I know has used this catchphrase I some point in their life.
Craig in CR opening after cutting off the bad guy (what was his name? sorry!) who was explaining to Bond that his second killing would be ... ;
"Yes, considerably." I love that he didn't let him finish that line, and delivered it in such a laconic way.
Brando in On the Waterfront "I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody ..." such raw and powerful emotion.
Liv Tyler in LOTR as Arwen responding to her dad's despairing comment that nothing is certain in the world, *Some things are certain." Beautifully done (as was the whole movie)
Telly Savalas on tv as Kojak: "Who loves ya, baby?" just so perfect coming from him.
Spider-Man 1 (2002)
"I'm Batman."
Batman 1 (1989)
"Luke, I am your father."
The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
"He just a Peter Pan right off of this dam!"
The Fugitive (1993)
"I have the need, the need for speed!"- Top Gun
"You complete me"- Jerry Maguire
A Tom Cruise platter of memorable quotes.
Jaws
"NO PRISONERS.....NO PRISONERS."
Lawrence Of Arabia
"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
Forrest Gump
"Here's Johnny."
The Shining
"Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?"
Raiders Of The Lost Ark
"As long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster."
Goodfellas
"Hang on a minute lads, I've got a great idea."
The Italian Job
die hard, die hard 2, die hard with a vengance, die hard 4.0- yippee kai yay motherf*cker
"Jehovah!"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You made my day with that first one! Oh man, what a corny yet classic movie. Batman running around with a cheesy looking bomb, dodging babies in strollers and nuns walking down the street, all while the bomb certainly would have already blown up! An even funnier line from that movie that I remember well is, "Confound it! The batteries are dead!"
