Loved opening sequence and even WotW - there I said it. Won't be buying the single mind...

Personally rate it far superior to SF as I have issues with that Bond. All good!! You're in for a real treat.

So glad you guys enjoyed it. I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief after those leaks.
  • How was the overall audience reaction? Good 'buzz' do you think? Did it get laughs in the right places etc?

Really loved it. I'm a huge fan of SF. And SF was my #1, but SP is going to become my #1. Really amazing! Huge applause to everyone involved in the film.
I know lot's won't agree but I loved the Soundtrack.
That's all for now . I'll write a full non spoiler and spoiler review later in the week.
  • Loved it! Breathtaking PTS; shivers up spine during titles, WotW works with them; made me laugh a lot; made me gasp a few times too... A different type of Bond film to Skyfall, but in a good way. I'd rate it a very close second to SF from the Craig films

Not too hammy and overall felt nicely measured. One real squirm moment and one LOL moment with audience happy to quietly hang on for the ride!

Just came out of tge movie. It's a very good Bond film. It utilises the classic elements of the series in a good way. It is flawed and there are some things I didnt like, my major grip being
Madeline telling Bond she loves him during the torture scenes
. There are a few other things that left me a tad disappointed but on the whole there's much to enjoy.

I'm no fan of Newman's scores for Bond but his work for SP in the context of the movie worked better than it did for SF for me.

That being said, I really liked the PTS, I think Smith's song worked well and tge visuals reminded me of a cross between softcover porn and tentacle-rape anime.

The whole cast were great and Craig was on top form. Confident, slick, self-assured and utterly badass. The action came in abundance and the fights brutal.

Hinx for me has one of the best introductions not just for a villain but as a character in general. The guy's a monster.

The build up of the theme leading to the opening gunbarrel really set the mood and tge PTS was phenomenal. One of the best in the series.

    I'd rate it 8.5/10.

It's better...much better than SF for me but it doesn't top CR.

Just back from seeing it. I've been keeping away from the forum for the last week or two.

Overall I quite enjoyed it. Some very good stuff in it. Quite a few nods to the previous DC movies plus some general nods to the rest of the series.

I liked it more than Skyfall, but I have to say I've always felt that Skyfall was very overrated.

Right now there are three or four scenes in particular that stand out for me. But I'll say nothing more about them here.

    Opening shot was amazing.

Also Lea Seydoux was very nice. I liked her character. She felt more than just the latest Bond girl.

The final act felt like it was getting a little silly but then I remembered Diamonds Are Forever exists so it can't ever be that silly.

My main negative was the music. Nothing memorable about it. No main theme as such and it even reuses Skyfall music at various points. Very lazy. The OHMSS music in the trailer puts it to shame.

Right now I'll give it 4/5.

Daniel Craig adds a little 'Moore' to his 4th outing as James Bond, with Mendes creating some of the most stunning cinematography ever featured in the series. The plot is both traditional and unconventional in equal measures, yet the film lacks the darker dramatic edge and enigmatic suaveness of Casino Royale. A little more Fleming required. 8/10.
  • This is all so great to hear! Critics' praise is nice, but the response from fellow fans (fanatics?) means more to me.
  • The build up of the theme leading to the opening gunbarrel really set the mood.

Aw what? It doesn't start with the classic dah-da-dah? Please tell me it's not the Skyfall Gunbarrel but at the start. Please.

Yes it does. Newman basically combines the two types of barrel cue into one.

Superb, really enjoyed it. Different tone again though, much lighter and very Roger Moore-ish in places. Not sure where they go from here though. also music doesn't spoil film and quite good in places, but not a patch on CR, QOS or TND soundtracks

You will absolutely love the start. A proper Bond beginning. This reviewing without spoilers is a pita!!

@marketto007 wanted me to stop by and let you all know that he saw it and was absolutely blown away by it. One of, if not the, best Bond movies he's ever seen, and there were a few instances he didn't expect whatsoever that made him cry. It's near perfection to him, apparently!

Here are a few photos he wanted me to upload, as well:
