Awesome poster so far, @haserot! I absolutely love Nightfire, it's the best Bond game of all time. Great to see a fan creation for this amazing adventure!

Well, though I do find myself playing it far too often, I don't see it as the best Bond game of all (that honor goes to Blood Stone, which has my favorite original story).

One question: Is that Mads Mikkelsen in the background?

    It's Jimmy Smits.

Okay... I guess after his stint in Dexter, I could see him as a bad guy now. Maybe it could work.

but there's no snowmobiles and underwater aston martins and ninjas and base jumps in moonraker ;)

@thelivingroyale: Exactly! None of that magic happened in Moonraker. If I had my way, Nightfire would replace Moonraker!

I was trying to think of actors who resembled Drake in the game, and the only ones i could think of were Jimmy Smits, and Oded Fehr... but for a while, every time i thought of Drake, I kept coming back to Jimmy Smits - not so much based on acting talent, but just from the looks standpoint.

Smits is a decent actor and he looks the part. Nice casting, Haserot. I think Nightfire will actually become a film one day, albeit a slight plot alteration.

I always thought of Antonio Banderas.

    Some constructive feedback...

Brosnan is lit from the right and Earth is lit from the left. Number one rule in design is understand your lighting.

The text at the top of the poster should not run into Bronsan's hair, especially when it is lit white matching the text.

The gunbarrel thread should not run directly through Jimmy Smits eyes. Bond always wins at the end of the movie so you might want to consider lowering Jimmy Smits so their eye lines are not on the same level.

#1 - the lighting... i am fully aware of the contrast of the lighting on Brosnan and on Earth... that was a feel call, and something i am still playing around with (it's only 50% done mind you)

#2 - the text.. the placement/color of the text - again might change, due to the poster not being finished.. i needed a place to put it, and thats where it's gone for the time being.

#3 - I understand your comment about the gun barrel through the eyes - noted.... and one could also make the case that i should also decrease the size of Smits - because the size is overpowering Bond.

No, but the basic plot of the film and the game (very rich guy with a last name starting with D-R-A trying to take over space for one reason or another - space Nazi or nuclear weapons - with Bond stopping him using lasers) is practically the same.
  • Awesome job, @haserot. I'm impressed for what you did with this artwork as NightFire is the best game of all in the world, not just the best Bond game.

Can't wait to see this finished. What's there so far is some great groundwork.

I think the lighting is fine. Yes, I always try to keep it to one side, but sometimes there's nothing you can do about it unless you want to create the shadows/lighting from scratch- and let's be honest, who here is that skilled? It'll more than likely ruin the original image. Besides, most people won't analyze the lighting anyway. I wouldn't worry about it. Keep up the good work. :D

The whole space thing is similar but the villians intentions are different (drakes plan is slightly more realistic). But the plot isn't the reason I want to see it made into a film, the characters, action sequences and moments that could make classic bond moments are the reason I want to see it happen. But this is just a dream I know will never come true :(

Eh, I could understand that. And, yes the villains' plot was different in that Drax wanted to be a space Nazi and Drake just wanted to blow up the planet (I think, I honestly haven't paid attention to the game's story in years).

Look, @haserot, I just give you an opinion that NightFire's Bond Girls were based on real actresses. Kimberley Davies is Aulura McCall and Lena Reno is Dominique Paradis. I suggest you to use them.

thank you very much - i was going to ask this question anyways... thanks for reading my mind :-D
  • Well, no problem. But, I have no idea on whom was based Zoe. Before I forget, Kiko's played by Tamilyn Tomita.

On the box cover art, Zoe Nightshade is portrayed by a model from Vancouver, Canada (the same city that the driving missions were developed by EA).

Still can't find her real name, sorry!
