The 1962-1981 section of my Bond 50 set is really falling apart :( debating between whether I should just wait until Craig's run is finished to get a new collection, or get another Bond 50 set (I really do love its design...).

Please note, on other BluRay forums and websites it was mentioned that the cover art for the "SPECTRE"-steelbook is subject to change. So it's not the final steelbook art.[/b

Uh oh. How come? Is that set pretty flimsy? I was thinking of buying it for myself but if it's too temperamental I may pass....

I think I made a thread about it a while back, and others didn't seem to have this issue, but the pages of the set started coming apart so the discs can't stay in place. Don't know if it's just the one I got or what; I don't want to waste a lot more money on another if it'll just do the same thing. I'll probably just wait for another collection (not the current one; don't like the design at all).

Great set. Would love the Casino Royale one - but could I justify buying it a fifth time! (DVD, DVD de-luxe, Blu-ray de-luxe + Bond 50 set) Still have the blu-ray de-luxe and of course Bond 50.

They should've went with the shot of Craig in the mask during the PTS for the steelbook. I may get it since they didn't use the awful character poster of him in the suit. I also wouldn't have minded them going with the shot of him in the turtleneck.

I have the 50th anniversary Blu Ray boxset with the spaceholder for Skyfall.
While I already own Skyfall on DVD, the OCD complex in my head won't rest until I get a Blu Ray disk of the movie with the same style disk art that the rest of the films in the boxset have (black background with 007 on it).

Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get a copy of Skyfall on Blu Ray with the same disk art as the rest of the movies in the 50th anniversary box set please?

Doesn't exist. You're OCD will have to wait till the next box set comes out, at which point you'll have to sell the set you have and replace the whole thing.

Yea it sucks, but there you have it. Screaming at Sony will likely result in little more than a bunch of soar throats on our part. I rue the day they took over and gaffed the whole Blu-ray project. We're lucky they came in after the Lowry project was done otherwise they probably would have cancelled that mid stream as well.

@TR007, why not try to locate the slipcase design online, print it out on nice paper, and replace it in the SF case? I'm sure it's out there somewhere, as numerous people have been upset at the difference in the case art.

He was asking for a disc which matches the others, not the jacket.

You could always glue the paper 'SF coming soon' paper disc they put in the slot in 2012 over an actual disc.

Not brilliant but as they already made a pigs ear of the 50th you'll be waiting forever for EON and Sony to give us a jaw dropping box set.

Anyone out there fancy hacking into the code on the QOS, SF (and doubtless SP) discs so we can lose the trailers and to make the menus match with all the other films?

Do fans of other franchises like Star Wars get such shoddily made goods foisted on them?

At least EON haven't gone back into the Bond films of old and made thick-headed and wholly unnecessary changes to them à la Lucas.

You mean like going back and taking out the slide whistle in TMWTGG or digitally altering DAD so it ended after the sword fight?

Actually is there a thread on this somewhere? And if not why not?!?

'George Lucas style tinkering with Bond films'?

Thanks for the answers regarding the Skyfall disk. That's an awful shame that they don't update disk art with the subsequent releases. I was hoping someone could confirm that the steel-books had the updated disk art on them.

@TheWizardOfIce I'll have to go with your suggestion on this. Wish me luck!

In the blue ray collection released in September they all match.Maybe someone is selling skyfall disc online.

I cant imagine anyone would buy the set and then sell the Skyfall out of it. Even if they already had the standalone Skyfall edition, that's the one they'd be inclined to part with I would think.

In any event, one will in fact face the same issue when they go to add SPECTRE as its disc almost certainly will not conform cosmetically to the collection edition disc motif.
  • Decided to treat myself to the latest Blu ray boxset for christmas (£54 on amazon) it'll be nice to have them all in one box rather than a bunch of DVD's taking up half my desk .

Watch Thunderball today ( Bluray on my new 50" TV ) I noticed a tiny, really
Tiny white dot in the upper right of the film. It would disappear for a while
    and return.
I first noticed it in the Bond v Moneypenny scene, the next underwater scene
and a few other places. It's not on the DVD ( which I also played to check) .
So I'm wondering, with a bigger screen have I never noticed before ? And
Is it on anyone else's copy ?
The Bluray is from the Anniversary boxset.

It's called Panavision. I suggest you skip to LALD and TMWTGG if you want to watch your Bond films on a small canvas.

DN, FRWL, GB, LALD, and TMWTGG were film in a different aspect ratio than the rest of the movies. Which I believe the others were filmed in standard widescreen.
