Watched TFA a second time today. Snoke looks uncannily like B. Cumberbatch. Love his theme music, very sinister.

Since some are ranking the current STAR WARS movie, here is mine:

    1. "The Empire Strikes Back"/"Attack of the Clones" (tie)

    2. "Revenge of the Sith"

    3. "The Phantom Menace"

    4. "A New Hope"

    5. "Return of the Jedi"

    6. "The Force Awakens"

    1 TFA
    2 TESB
    3 SW
    4 ROTS
    5 TPM
    6 AOTC
    7 ROTJ
  • 1 TESB
    2 TFA
    3 SW
    4 ROTJ

    5 ROTS

    6 TPM
    7 AOTC

Those last two are neck and neck, with Ep I having the 'slight' edge.

    3. Return of the Jedi
    4. A New Hope
    5. The Force Awakens
    6. Attack of the Clones
    7. The Phantom Menace

Liked TFA; it's way above the first two prequels, but I can't put it above A New Hope or the others.

I didn t look forward to ROGUE ONE all that much, but now I read that it takes place between episodes III and IV, focuses on the rebels trying to get hold of the plans for the Death Star, and that DARTH VADER appears!

    I am on board.

I heard that too and that Hayden Christensen is reprising his role as Vader.

Oh blast! As long as they keep him out of the main series that's coming back in 2017 I can live with it, no matter how grudgingly.

Yes, they've got to get James Earl Jones back. He's still got it vocally (saw him on Broadway in 2012).

David Prowse was among the contenders for the part of Jaws, as well.

Which part did he play again, @Birdleson?
  • *Maybe* he can play Vader in the Rogue One movie, since he'll actually be Vader, in costume. Not really interested in seeing more 'Anakin ghost' in Episode VIII. Didn't even really like it in ROTJ

I just want to see badass Vader doing badass things like, choking out his generals via Skype and face time.

So the next Star Wars is in between 3 and 4??? That's interesting...

He is the Frankenstein Monster that passes Bond and Co. in the hallway of Dr. Noah's fortress near the climax of CASINO ROYALE (1967)

Oh, never knew that. CR 67 has so many celebrities before and behind the camera, it is uncanny. By all tokens, it should have been great. But it was shit.

This interesting Spanish documentary talks with Prowse to reenact with him the last scene of ROTJ. Lucas tried to forbid it, but he couldn't...

A well deserved tribute to Prowse (he mentions the CR appearance)

I have some wiewings, and maybe some joints, to go, but I do appreciate that the effort was made. Wooody Allen is terrific already.

I wonder if the next stand alone SW will be set between episodes VI and VII, and maybe the third after the complete saga?

    STAR WARS X

I like the sound of it! ;)

We desperately need a whole movies worth between VI & VII. 'Just talking' about what happened sucks.
As for between V & VI, is Shadows of the Empire still canon? That was quite the big deal when it came out

What good are the title text scrolls then?

  • Well I meant more in the sense of the movie itself- there were all these important new characters, who supposedly had already gone through a ton of important stuff, and w basically missed all of it

Wonder if the text scrolls will be there at all in the stand-alone films?

The thing that scares me most is SW films not scored by Williams. And we shall have those soon enough. Williams isn't hired for the non-anthology films as I have come to understand.

    @Thunderfinger
David Prowse was the monster in Hammer's Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell. (And he played a part in A Clockwork Orange.)

    Alexandre Desplat, I think.
