MI6Community's TOP 5 Movies of 2015: you vote!

DarthDimiDarthDimi Behind you!Moderator
Here's the idea, folks. We all submit our top 5 theatrical releases of this year. Simple rules:

1) 5 points
2) 4 points
3) 3 points
2) 2 points
1) 1 point

The more members participate, the more representative our ultimate top 5 will be. Your choices are of course your own. Even an obscure local film can be at number 1 in your list even if you know no-one else here probably saw the film. This list doesn't have to restrict itself to big, mainstream franchise films.

I guess in the first week of 2016, we can have our results.

There are some 2014 movies who are released in 2015 in some country's like Paddington, Night at the Museum 3 or Kingsmen. Kingsmen is 2014 movie because it was finished in 2014 and released first in Germany in 2014. In for example the Vs, Uk and The Netherlands it is 2015 movie. (Like Layer Cake is 2004 movie released in 2005 straight to dvd in moost country's.)

I only have seen one 2015 movie in the cinema and one Dutch (In Dutch/ English) movie/documentry who is released in cinema first in 2015 and in July in same year on tv. Not realy worth to give points. Also i watched the Dutch tv premiere of Skfall on 3 January 2015 and some other movies from 2012 or 2013 who get his premiere on Dutch tv in 2015.

Looking at the films named already, I really haven't seen many major theatrical films. Most of the 2015 films i've seen have been indie/straight to dvd/tv movies. Cutting that list down to a top 5, my list would look something this this...

    1. Maggie
    2. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
    3. Pound Of Flesh
    4. Final Girl
    5. Operator

I'm reading a lot of love for Sicario, yet I haven't gotten to that film yet. I hope I won't have to revise my list later on. ;-)

    1. Dheepan; 5 points
    2. Le Tout Nouveaux Testament; 4 points
    3. Mad Max Fury Road; 3 points
    4. SPECTRE; 2 points
    5. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. ; 1 point

    with honourable mentions going to
    Star Wars Episode VII
    The Martian
    The Imitation Game

and in the outside catagory 'just a lot of fun': Spy.

Actually, I think there were many good films this year, but none so gripping, funny, dramatic and full of tension as Dheepan.

Can't believe no one's mentioned Mr Holmes yet! A cracking little film with a great central performance. Looking at a lot of these lists it seems most only go for big-budget popcorn movies.

I'm afraid I missed out on that one. Indeed, and that's the interesting bit. People always complaining about how unoriginal Hollywood is, yet when these lists are made up, it's exactly those films that are unoriginal that end up top.

My updated list having just seen "The Revenant," and after reminding myself that "American Sniper" was a 2014 film.

    1. Spectre
    2. Sicario
    3. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
    4. The Martian
    5. The Revenant

    And a hypothetical 6 and 7:

    6. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
    7. Mad Max: Fury Road
