I'm still hoping for the PPK or PPS. As for the P22, I highly doubt Bond would ever have much use for a .22 calibre target pistol.

    PPK,

    @JWESTBROOK

That's a very good point, I neglected to read the spiel! :-(
  • The PPS (below) from Carte Blanche is as bulky as the P99 inspite of the S meaning Slim.

The PPK can only hold sIx, seven or eight bullets (depending on the film you watch) compared to the P99's 15 or so...but Bond needs stealth and a small gun hides better - besides, he only needs seven/eight shots :)
  • I should point out I don't think guns are sexy. They are horrible cold nasty dangerous bits of metal that bring death and give insecure men erections. But saying that the PPK looks better on film. :-)

You're right. Bond should go in with a tongue depressor and a toothpick and simply knock everybody unconscious, and the bad guy should slip on a banana peel. This'll make all us insecure men (of which I may or may not be, depending on the day) a wake up call that Bond doesn't need a gun.

Its ok, I'm not starting a flame/troll anti-gun war. :-) I agree Bond needs a gun as he deals with life or death situations on a daily basis. It's the teenage boys on housing estates in the UK that don't need them and yet love waving them around and holding them sideways and getting generally aroused by their new willies :)
As a .22 rifle shooter in my early teens, I know there are many responsible gun owners out there.
But I also know there are as many plonkers. Remove the knife/gun/throwing stars and you just have sad, powerless individuals.

I wasn't starting anything either, just having a bit of fun.

No, it's not. The PPS is almost exactly the same size as the PPK. I've fired both guns at my local firing range and own licenced, accurate replicas of both. In fact, the PPS is slightly slimmer than the PPK, due to the PPK's plastic, screw-on grip.

Think we could get a poll here? Maybe pick PPK, P99, PPQ, PPS, PX4 Storm or Other (meaning a weapon that hasn't been mentioned here)?

Besides all the P22/P99/lookalikes, the Walther P88 Compact could do in a pinch, even if it looks a little generic. I still pip for the H&K P9s tho.

Is that the gun Trevelyn used near the end of GoldenEye?
  • Trevelyn uses a Browning BDM, @Agent007391

Oh. Looking at the picture of the P88, it looked like Trevelyn's gun at the end of GoldenEye.
  • I keep trying to change "Walther P88" to "Walther P88 Compact", but it doesn't work. Ah well. :-w

Mossad agents apparently used .22 Rugers during the Munich Olympics incident, so who knows?
  • That Beretta PX4 is a very pretty gun, I must say.

Bond only needs ONE shot. Perhaps two to be certain lol

I think that Bond should use PPk during his new spy mission but he can have P99 in main gunfight.

Well they would latest on Skyfall. I hope they show us, James Bond with his Walther either old PPK or his usual P99 or maybe any of the 3 new Walthers WK380,PPS or PPQ.

I bet the P99 may pop up at some point though. It has in most of the recent films.

Didn't James start with a Baretta in DN?

its small and handy, I like it. Its about time bond got a new gun anyway. The ppk is REALLY outdated now, and the p99 is good but its a bit big. I don't mind bond using a PPK in skyfall though since its the 50th anniversary and everything.

Well I saw the picture & exactly right. Well in Quantum of Solace he always had it & there was no P99 in Sight. I doubt it he ever use the P99 in SKyfall. Less Q issue him the gun, now he back.
  • I carry a PPK as my off duty weapon and love it. One of the sexiest pistols ever made, and it always seemed to fit Bond. Besides, a spy's weapon isn't meant to take on a platoon (even though James does!), but only meant to get him out of a jam.
  • It has to be the P99. It just look so much better than the Walther PPK. Plus, when I see the PPK, I just associate with old Bond films, not the new ones. Brosnan looked great with the P99 and so would Craig!
